Have a kid to save the world!

The Calm Belt near the West Sea.

On the tranquil sea, there was not a ripple in sight, and the entire ocean seemed as still as death. Surrounded by an empty environment, it appeared as if everything was enveloped in silence.

In this quiet sea, a small black dot emerged on the surface and gradually grew larger. Soon, the true form of the black dot became clear.

It was a raft made from dozens of giant logs and vines, and on the raft, a giant was rowing with a homemade oar. Since there was no wind in the Calm Belt, the only way to move the raft forward was by other means.

If any Navy personnel were here, they would immediately recognize the man. He was the highest-ranking officer to defect from the Navy before Zephyr, Vice Admiral Jaguar D. Saul.

Saul no longer bore the imposing demeanor of a Navy Vice Admiral. His once pristine white Marine cape was now tattered and torn. Instead of his former solemnity, he now seemed more free-spirited.

On the raft, Olvia was using binoculars to observe any subtle movements beneath the calm sea. After all, besides the terrifying weather, the presence of Sea Kings posed a significant threat to ships.

However, it seemed even the Sea Kings understood that Saul was not an easy target. As the raft cut through the sea, they encountered no Sea Kings foolish enough to attack.

"Saul, it's incredible how these Sea Kings can grow to such enormous sizes," Olvia marveled.

"Is it any more amazing than the differences between giants and humans? Despite looking nearly identical, the size disparity is vast. And then there's the Tontatta, Longarm, and Longleg tribes," Saul responded, scratching his head.

"Yes, I read in a book that the similarity between humans and giants is as high as ninety-nine percent," Olvia said with a smile.

This piqued Saul's interest. He knew some books contained knowledge that most people were unaware of and wouldn't even think to consider. This was similar to how Vegapunk from the Navy's science division became interested in bloodline elements after reading related content in a book.

"If you pay close attention, you'll notice that giants and other human-like races seem to be evolved versions of regular humans. Because regular humans lack strength, there are giants; because their arms aren't flexible enough, there are Longarms; because their legs aren't strong enough, there are Longlegs..."

"Sometimes I wonder if there might be a race that evolved wings to fly," Olvia laughed.

"So, maybe the World Government forbids research into Poneglyphs not just because they're afraid of uncovering something that threatens their rule from the Void Century, but also because they fear someone might discover something that could upend the world," Saul pondered.

"Is that why you're willing to risk your life to pursue history, Olvia?" Saul suddenly asked.

"Yes, bringing buried history back to light is incredibly fulfilling," Olvia replied with a smile, tucking her silver hair behind her ear.

"Olvia, do you know about Devil Fruits? These mysterious fruits come from the sea, yet their users are despised by the sea itself," Saul inquired.

Saul asked curiously, having gained a deep respect for Olvia's archaeological knowledge during their journey together.

"Devil Fruits?"

Olvia paused and then began to ponder.

"These mysterious treasures of the sea are never documented in books regarding their origins or how they are formed. However, many have taken notice of Devil Fruits and their mysterious powers. From what I understand, ever since their discovery, many individuals and kingdoms have tirelessly researched them, hoping to unlock their secrets. I once found a record in a historical ruin that seemed to describe the origin of Devil Fruits."

"The origin of Devil Fruits?"

Saul's eyes lit up; he never expected that Olvia might know the origin of Devil Fruits.

"Well, I can't say it's entirely accurate, as it wasn't a written record but rather a drawing. The drawing depicted various shapes of Devil Fruits growing on a single tree, with many people bowing before it, suggesting an ancient totemic worship."

The mysterious Devil Fruits, their origins, and their essence—what could they truly be?

Olvia herself was quite intrigued by these sea treasures with miraculous powers, but as a scholar without formidable strength, she could only speculate.

"A tree?"

Saul was taken aback by Olvia's words, as they reminded him of the bedtime stories his giant grandmother used to tell him when he was young.

Night fell, and the Calm Belt became even more silent. In the pitch-black night, without even a whisper of wind, only the occasional low roars of Sea Kings broke the oppressive silence. This eerie atmosphere, however, did not frighten the two on the raft.

Saul rowed through the night, pressing on. By dawn the next day, they had reached the waters of the West Blue.

The wind blew against them, causing their clothes to flap vigorously.

...

"Hey, why did you suddenly decide to contact me?"

Wano Country, Hakumai.

Nicholas picked up a hidden Den Den Mushi and asked.

"Nicholas, I need a favor."

At the Revolutionary Army headquarters in Baltigo, Dragon spoke with a serious expression.

"Go ahead, what do you need? If I can help, I will."

"I received insider information that the Navy has learned about Olvia's presence in the West Blue. I need you to rescue her. As you know, the Revolutionary Army already poses a significant threat to the World Government. If they find out we're connected to the Poneglyphs..."

Although Dragon didn't finish his sentence, Nicholas understood his concern. If the World Government discovered that the Revolutionary Army, which sought to overthrow them, was also involved with the Poneglyphs, they would likely go berserk and focus all their efforts on crushing the Revolutionary Army.

"Sure, no problem. And by the way, have a kid soon to save the world."

"Huh???"

Dragon was bewildered, wondering what having a child had to do with saving the world. However, Nicholas didn't intend to explain. After chatting briefly with Dragon, Nicholas hung up the Den Den Mushi.

By his calculations, Nico Robin, the future archaeologist, was probably only around eight years old now.

"Fate is a strange thing, but some people deserve a different destiny."

Nicholas murmured to himself, a contemplative look in his eyes. Changing someone's fate could be quite interesting, couldn't it?

A week later, after drifting in the West Blue for a week, Olvia and Saul finally reached Ohara. They were certain of their location because they could see the massive, sky-covering Tree of Knowledge from afar.
