Chapter 109: The stubborn and the fool

"I already said I'm fine, Anton." Fil drew her head away from Anton, seated in the front passenger seat while Anton was in the driver's seat. "The company nurse already took care of me. This is not a fatal injury, so there's no need for all these medicines."

Anton sighed as he retrieved his hand. "I wanted to see for myself, okay? Am I not allowed to worry about a friend?"

"You're worried that this injury will postpone the filming," she corrected in a knowing tone. "Now that you've seen it, I bet you're reassured. The swelling is already fine, and I will conceal the cut on my lips with lipstick. Tomorrow's schedule will go on without a hitched."

"These medicines are not magic," she added, lifting the plastic bag full of medicines. "Thanks, but I'm not dying."

"You should act like this in front of Valerie," he grumbled. "How come you're mean to me and not to her? See what happened?"

"She's a kid," Fil argued. "She doesn't know what she's doing."
