Even if he agreed to stay behind, Kanaru wanted to grab the reason to come to the fight. His mouth opened to answer as he thought of what Fenris would say. Would the king get angry, or would Fenris only laugh because of his stubbornness?

"…okay." Kanaru shook his head and threw away his hesitation. He got up and ran with Melias to leave the infirmary. When they ran past Gannett, the second prince only snorted with a smile.

At the castle grounds, Melias saw how most knights had gone away. Only Rodnir and a pair of black-clad knights were left to wait for them. She then jogged to the frowning ward. "Where did they go? They didn't wait for me?"

Rodnir dismissed his frown and looked at the princess. "Princess Petraskia, His Majesty wished to clear the path for you. We should head out now in case we get delayed so much. However… why is he with you? His Majesty told him not to go."
