What happened to Lara
I bid goodbye to Uncle Luis, but when I went down the stairs, I suddenly bumped into a waiter, so the drink he brought spilled on me. He kept apologizing, and I just let it go because it was just a small thing. I just asked him where the toilet was, and he gave me directions and headed there.
I didn't enter as I was stunned by the voices inside, because I knew those voices.
"Lara, I also want to be angry, and I have many questions for you, but I know that the hatred and anger that Kaesu feels is beyond my control. Why did you do this to us?" I heard crying. Alex said to Lara.
"I don't know if I still have a face to show you two, but I hope you will listen to me. Kaesu chose to turn her back on me and chose not to listen to me, but I understand her." Lara started.
"Via is my brother's girlfriend. She was the first woman to open my brother's closed heart since our mother died. I had an accident one night and I don't know who I ran into. I was not myself then, and I woke up at home being cared for by nurses. And when I fully recovered, my father buried everything in oblivion. From then on, my older brother hated me, and then I also found out that his girlfriend was dead. I wanted to ask if it was me who killed her but no one answered me, instead they just hated me." Lara's voice started to crack.
I felt like hundreds of needles were pricked by what I heard.
"I-if you knew how miserable I've felt knowing that I killed somebody. Thinking about what has happened, did I really take a person's life? I hated myself back then, more than they hated me. I wanted to bury myself in the same ground she was buried, and I thought to myself, how dare I live while someone dies." I heard Lara's voice crack.
Later, I heard Lara's sobs, so I held my chest because it seemed like it was being pinched while swallowing and preventing myself from crying.
"When I saw Kaesu, I felt like I was hoping to change everything. I hope to recover from everything, but I never thought that everything would come to this point. When you and Kaesu came into my life, that's when I found a reason to live again." I can hear her voice cracking and hear sobs. "In the blink of an eye, everything seemed to be taken back from me. I lost everything, and everyone hated me, again. Not knowing how to rise again or how to at least apologize to you or at least explain my side. With each passing day, I feel like I'm being killed, dying little by little," she continued.
I couldn't bear my feelings anymore, and I left there as long as I could drag my feet out of there. With tears rolling down my eyes, I ran away from the place.
I stopped in a place I was not familiar with, and as I caught my breath I felt my knees weaken and let myself fall to the ground. I hugged my knees and buried my face in my knees and finally let myself cry. I want to scream. I want to swear and lose my temper, but I'm just too weak for those things.
I'm tired of hating myself for being weak. I decided to be brave, but I always ran away whenever I faced the problems I had to face because I was really weak.
"Don't try to push me away." I immediately raised my face and tearfully faced the one who spoke at my side. I saw Antonio with a smile on his lips, but a bitter smile.
He caressed my cheeks and wiped off my tears. "You can be weak with me, you can cry your heart out. You can swear and shout as loud as you can."
I couldn't speak, I looked like a wet puppy.
"Do you know how proud I am of you now?" The smile never left his lips, And he continued to speak. "Because you didn't stumble even when you were crying and running."
And because of what he said, I cried even more, and I felt his warm embrace. I buried my face in his chest and let myself drown in my tears until I no longer realized that my eyes were tired, and I could feel the weight of my eyelids until I let go when sleepiness visited me.
I was distracted by the noises I heard, so I slowly opened my eyes, only to find out that I was in my bedroom.
"Admit it to me Antonio, what is your relationship with Kaesu, and I always seem to see you hovering around him?"
"Couple!" Antonio jokingly replied.
I knew I was awake but when I tried to speak it was as if something blocked my throat. I also tried to stand up, but it seemed that my legs were very heavy.
Antonio received a blow on the arm from Alex and Antonio just smiled and rubbed his arm while shaking his head at Alex, who was now stressing him out.
"Yes, and Lara is giving something."
Antonio's previously friendly face suddenly frowned as he accepted Alex's hand, even I frowned in surprise.
"What is it and what is it for?"
"Shh. Just give it to her and make sure she doesn't know who it's from, because I'm sure she won't look at it when she knows who it's from. Do you understand?"
Antonio couldn't stop nodding because of Alex's strictness, and later he said goodbye to Antonio. I didn't know what to do. I closed my eyes again when Alex tried to look at me.
When Alex finally left, I breathed a sigh of relief and was also surprised when Antonio suddenly spoke.
"Sometimes I really don't know if Alex is good at pretending, or just being stupid that he doesn't notice that you've been listening," he spoke jokingly and approached me.
I tried to stand up, and he supported me, but I didn't answer him. He also understood what I wanted, so he cleared his throat first before speaking again.
"Looks like you're good. I'll go first."
I wanted to say no, but I would be very selfish if I stopped him after throwing hurtful words at him before.
