Solemn Euvialin
Don't forget everything: that novel, the GS saga, the protagonist, the storyline, my...
My past life...
"I'm glad I still have the grasp of my memories." Gazing up at the vast sky while I'm amid a forest, I heaved a sigh. "How long can I keep doing this?"
Occasionally, I recite my past life and other crucial memories in my head. For the sake of preventing it from fading away. I can't afford to lose any of my memories, as some of them were really important to me, whilst others are essential for surviving this world.
Usually, all I needed to do was write down everything, like what a character did in a novel.
However, that could put my life in danger.
"Earth"
My conversation with Oscar yesterday resurfaced in my mind. That fact alone already limits my freedom to a certain degree. That's why I need to be extra careful when disclosing any information about my past life. If I write about my past life even in my past language, it'll be easily deciphered.
It's not just about being a reincarnator anymore, with this world and Earth's past; just for simply being a former Earth resident, I'll most likely receive tremendous hate, and at worst, I might get killed.
It's a major mystery of the novel that is only revealed near the end. I can only blame the dense fuck MC for not realizing it sooner. Though I'm not planning to change that, it might come in handy someday.
"Sigh..... Why do I need to get headaches because of Earth even in my next life? "
I guess this is the reason why you are supposed to lose memory in your next life. Because of it, I'm still bound to my previous world. I forgot some important things, like my name, people's faces, and places. But maybe it's something to be thankful for since it lowers the chance of me getting found out. It's not like I can wish to forget everything, or how else should I survive this world without my past life knowledge? I don't want to forget to begin with.
While contemplating, a bright light blocked out my vision. Though it's not blinding or hurts to eyes, it's a warm light that soothes my wavering mind.
Seeing the orb of light that seems to worry, my lips naturally curl up, and my composure naturally reverts back to normal. "Don't worry, Cilestia, I'm fine; you don't have to worry," I asked, easing her. "Do you need anything?"
Celestial shook her orb body, and that alone was enough for me to understand what she wanted to convey.
"I see that can't be helped."
"I guess that's the only place that was left, huh?"

Yesterday...
Kid, before you go, I've got something to say."
I'm about to exit the door after watching Oscar play a game for a while. But he suddenly pulled me back.
Holding the doorknob, I close it once again, expecting this to take a long time. I turn on the same sofa where he's still playing. "What? Do you plan on lending me 'Sexy Angel Conquest' now? "
"How many times should I say I wouldn't lend it to you?" learning to pause his game this time, he turned to face me. "You're still planning on looking for that child, right?"
"Well, yeah... Do you have something for me? "
"You're really quick to catch on, huh?" Oscar grins and then gazes around the room." But first, you need to clean for me."
"This fuc..."
After cleaning the room in bitterness, Oscar said a few words that weren't worth the effort at all. Because I wasted my whole goddamn day here, no progress has been made in searching for Euvialin.
"Have you tried the place where you usually spend your time?"

Arriving at an enclosed place of trees, a path leading to a single light was ahead of me. Passing through that light, the scenery completely changed. As if I were entering a whole new world, an open place was laid before my eyes.
A tranquil green land, behind were waterfalls, with the whole place surrounded by rustling trees. The harmless animals can be spotted around, and bird songs are playing in the background while there's a nice smell of nature, making this place comfortable. This was the place where I mostly spent my time to relax or train.
This place was near the heart of the forest, a little far from the orphanage. Monsters sometimes roam near here, though that was where Oscar's job came into play. As adventurers, he and others wipe out any monster in the vicinity of the orphanage.
I was walking straight to the middle of this place with Cilestia on her usual throne—my shoulder. Dozens of spirits swarm us, as this place has a high quality of mana spirits naturally packed here. As cilestia was the only mana they could see with abnormal purity, they all got attracted to it. But at this point, they're really irritating.
Thankfully, Cilestia was releasing strong pressure and made a wall out of mana, warding them off. In the past, we could barely keep them away with spirits swarming us, though that was a thing of the past.
Improvements have been made over time. I'm glad my lazy, friendly training didn't end up for naught. It's more like playing with my mana, though. But that's much better than hard-core fantasy training.
The easy way is enough for me; I can't do anything else anyway. Despite the fact that it's still taking effect, my mana has more power than normal. However, only Lhifhina and Oscar know that fact; I hide it from anyone else; even the system that measures mana couldn't detect it.
A dense pack of high-purity mana wraps this place, making it a great place to increase the strength of my mana. But as the years passed, the quality of my mana surpassed the mana around here. It's already low for me, to be honest. I desired more, but there's no other place that can offer mana at this level. The mana in other places looks shit from my perspective. So there's no other choice but to stick in this place.
"Can I really find Euvialin here?"
Letting out an inquiry directly to no one, I scrutinize the surroundings. I contemplate, still doubting Oscar's words.
Is she really here? This is where I usually spend my time. But not even once I found her—or is Oscar just messing with me to get back on me? Either way, there's nothing to lose.
Before I realized it, Cilestia was already doing our daily routine. To eat mana—or absorb? Either way, Cilestai starts to filter the mana around. We only pick the highest quality. We are quite picky when it comes to this, only picking the best of the best to maintain the quality growth of my mana.
Normally, this can't be done with great precision. What I'm doing is gathering dust like mana of the highest quality. No wait, collecting dust is easier. I'm collecting something extremely minuscule that doesn't have a physical form. It's a no-joke task; usually, you just need to absorb mana in the surroundings and refine it later.
Picking it precisely is a ridiculous thing to do, and it's inconvenient. But that's all the choice I have. I can only store a limited amount of mana, so I only pick top quality and refine it, making it stronger.
"Stay there for a bit, Cilestia."
Leaving Cilestia aside, I examine the surroundings. There's no other presence in the surroundings, aside from me and Cilestia. If you exclude the animals and the spirits that are trying to get close to Cilestia.
Did that bastard trick me? I can't help but think like that and become irritated at the same time. But I don't think he has the audacity to back down from our deal that he proposes himself. Maybe I'm missing something?
What if using just your eyes is not an answer? It's possible to see mana; even I could do that. Is that the answer? Closing my eyes, I stimulate my mana. Opening my eyes once again, a myriad of colorful sights washed over me. As expected, this is
—Useless; this is fucking useless. I have been doing this for the past few weeks, but it's still futile.
Yes, I can see the mana through my eyes and differentiate the mana colors. But that's all there is to it. Unlike in most novels, this is not a golden trick or something. All it can do is see mana. Sensing mana is based on how you do it.
And since controlling mana is my forte, sensing mana is one of my few great aspects. I can sense mana as if I were seeing it and differentiate its colors as well. No, wait, I can see it without using my eyes. Moreover, unlike using eyes, you do not need to look around. I can sense it in a sphere view over a wide range. Isn't that much better than using your eyes?
But I've already used that trick as well; maybe it'll work in this place if she's really here.
It didn't take that long after I focused on sensing the surroundings. I felt a weirdly familiar fluctuation in mana at a certain place.
"That is..."
