Intensity Rises

When one is on the brink of death, they think about more significant things than they normally would. Many in such situations ponder the why, but Anton, who was on a mission, questions absolutely nothing.

This was more than a job; what he did was his path to redemption, and he would only rest when he was dead.

Some die for money and often regret it in the end, but those who die for a noble cause feel an unprecedented will that propels them towards an enlightened path of meaning and purpose.

Crack!

In this situation, the sensation was so intense that Anton didn't think about surviving but rather about eliminating the threat. After all, this is the reason he was fighting.

Thinking about this, Anton, absorbed in the battle, adjusted his stance. After receiving a powerful blow following the severing of the demon's hand, he threw another grenade at an increasingly close range.

The demon's healing was powerful, but at this moment, what mattered to Anton was slowing down that healing.

Boom!

With a powerful force coursing through Anton's body, the grenade that exploded at close range didn't affect him much. As expected, however, the demon didn't move and simply stared at Anton's figure, who had noticeable wounds on his face.

"A truly diabolical thing..." Surprise crossed Anton's eyes as he observed that the damage wasn't significant.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Creating distance and taking advantage of the confusion, Anton shot three more rounds that hit the demon's heart. However, the resulting fire was like a volcanic eruption, dragging a huge wave of air, rapidly spreading in all directions, and shattering everything.

The fire instantly filled Anton's eyes, and he was slightly surprised. "Something dangerous..."

Feeling the shockwave carrying gravel, Anton covered the most vulnerable parts of his body, ceasing his attack in just a few seconds. Although he was concerned that the demon might attack before he had time to react, he had to protect himself, or he would be severely injured if his eyes were damaged.

Crack!

But, as expected, the damage wasn't significant simply because the impact wasn't in his direction. As the entire corridor crumbled and the surroundings filled with smoke and dust, the furious roar of the demon was heard.

"You damn priest! Every breath you take makes me want to peel your skin and cut off every limb from your body in the most painful way possible!"

Suddenly, a powerful energy exploded, and the smoke and dust in the sky instantly dissipated, revealing the figure of the demon floating in the air. The wounds on its body were burning flames; its inhuman form appeared before Anton, who, without any consideration, fired his special bullets again.

"Compared to the one who sent me here, you're a damn ant." Anton had the courage to say these words because, to him, they were true.

As he fired again, he prepared another grenade, putting a layer of divine energy on it before throwing it. If physical damage works, but in small proportions, combining it with divine strength will allow him to inflict more harm. By spending over 5,000 points of divine energy on this next attack, Anton knew he had never attacked with such strength before.

"I'll kill you."

Following the voice, the demon instantly appeared in front of Anton.

"So fast?" Before Anton could throw the grenade, his pupils shrank as he saw the enormous figure of the demon appearing before him. With only his sword in his left hand now, he attacked with all his might, hoping to sever another limb of the demon.

"I can't get close..." Anton dodged some bones protruding from the demon's body.

At that moment, using his Hand of God, blood slowly covered the grenade in his right hand, and it splashed on the demon's body, making it growl in pain.

Crack!

Feeling a force pushing him backward, Anton took advantage of it and threw the grenade he held in his right hand.

The entire process was completed in just a few seconds, and the grenade, imbued with blood, divine energy, and special material to kill supernatural beings, hurtled toward the demon in a single fraction of a second.

The demon's red pupils with vertical stripes showed no concern for this grenade. But at that moment, the demon found that Anton hadn't moved in his direction as he had before.

Boom!

Anton, who hadn't advanced, covered himself from the explosion. Despite being stronger and more resilient than a human, Anton wasn't a fool, so he preferred not to receive so much damage.

A louder roar sounded than before.

At that moment, everything became as dazzling as hell itself, as if there were a volcanic eruption in such a confined space.

Inexplicably, the explosion was stronger than before.

Roaaarrrr!!!

The demon, who had always been calm, finally let out a roar of pain.

The dust and fire filled the entire vision. As for the demon, due to this, Anton couldn't see it clearly. This attack had been stronger, and as soon as the demon's figure appeared before Anton, he knew that half of its chest had been completely obliterated.

"Suffer as you have made the innocent suffer."

Crack!

But at that moment, a powerful shockwave hit his chest, sending him forcefully backward.

"Never fight a dog with rabies."

That phrase passed through Anton's mind as he was being sent forcefully backward, impacting the walls, and forcefully crossing several rooms.
