Chapter 142: Failed plans (1)

"How do you know what she is up to?" Scarlet questioned, suspicious of Ian.

Beth was an annoying little fool, but Scarlet didn't think she was so stupid to speak of her plans to Ian or anywhere near him. 

Scarlet also didn't like thinking that Ian placed someone around Beth to gather information about her. She didn't need him to be caught up in her past. She liked that he had nothing to do with Jack. No friendship and no relation as business partners.

"I can see that you are overthinking. I learned of this from a business of mine. One that I can't just be flaunting around the town. I've made mention of this to you so it wasn't a secret. I've not been anywhere near that woman. She came to my business," Ian clarified.

It was easy to place that Scarlet started to think he might have some sort of relationship with Beth. There weren't two fools in her life. He would not make the ridiculous mistake of leaving Scarlet for Beth.
