Chapter 29: Threat (2)

"You should properly look into who he is before you keep someone like that by your side. Is this your revenge because of what I did? You don't have to go so far," said Jack.

Scarlet stopped just as her hand was on the doorknob to open the door. "Revenge?" Scarlet questioned, amused that he thought she had time to spare on him for such a thing.

Scarlet chuckled once more. Her run-ins with Jack these days were normally a headache but today he had taken on comedy. 

"I hope you haven't injured your head in my hotel. That would be quite a pain to have the doctor here tend to you. I have no interest in getting even with you. To get revenge in hopes of your attention, I would have to want you. That is not something a wish upon a star would grant," said Scarlet. 

Scarlet almost wanted to direct him to one of the wards in town rather than a doctor to save the doctor from dealing with this delusion.
