Chapter 27: 27. The Morning After
The next morning, Alexandra was awoken by a kiss on her lips. The gentle pecks turned into a passionate one before her mouth was forced open to welcome a tongue, playing with hers. She tried to catch her breath and finally she broke free from the man who was embracing her so tightly.

Unknown to both of them, a pair of eyes had been staring in their direction the moment Benjamin's car pulled up in front of the hospital's entrance. The gaze wasn't friendly, in fact it was full of malice.
Alexandra started her day at work following routine check ups, before starting on her operations' schedule. By the time the day ended, she was so exhausted that she immediately collapsed on the couch in the doctor's lounge. Looking at her tired physique, no one disturbed her nap. Dr Gerald Lee walked into the lounge and saw the sleeping figure on the couch. He went nearer and saw that it was Dr Zane. He immediately took a blanket and covered her up. Dr Gerald sat on the other side of the couch while staring at her unconscious state. He sat there for quite some time but no one knew what he was thinking about.
Suddenly, a figure appeared from behind and walked past him to get to Dr Zane. He was startled and was about to reprimand the stranger who had boldly stepped into the doctor's lounge when he saw who it was. However, the man's next action shocked him and the other doctors in the lounge. He bent down to carry the sleeping woman in his arms.
"Put her down! What the hell are you doing?" Dr Gerald shouted at the man.
"She's my girlfriend. What's your problem?" The man retorted.
"I don't believe you! She just cancelled her engagement. Are you kidding me?!" Unsatisfied, Dr Gerald said, while trying to stop the man.
All the loud noises caused the sleeping Alexandra to open her eyes and looked at her surrounding. When she realized she was being carried, she was surprised and looked up to see Benjamin's flushed face. He seemed angry. But why? Alexandra looked in front and saw Dr Gerald Lee, who was also fuming with anger. Are they fighting?
She gently tapped Benjamin's chest and he looked down to see her awake. His angry face instantly soften and he leaned down to kiss her head. He put her down and hugged her shoulders, showing off his status to the arrogant doctor standing in front of them.
Seeing their intimate embrace, Dr Gerald Lee clenched his fists.
"Dr Gerald, this is my boyfriend, Benjamin. Benjamin, this is my colleague, Dr Gerald Lee." Alexandra introduced the two of them.
Benjamin refused to acknowledge this arrogant man and just nodded his head before saying, "Let's go, baby. My parents are here."
"They're in Azteria?" This piece of news completely diverted Alexandra's attention from the previous tense situation.
"Yes, they want to meet you." Benjamin held her waist and pulled her away, leaving the others dumbfounded. Dr Gerald Lee remained quiet and his gaze followed the retreating couple.
"Oh my God! Is that Dr Zane's new boyfriend? He's so effing handsome!!!" One female doctor said.
"Did you hear that? His parents want to meet with Dr Zane. Does it mean they're getting married soon?" Another voice sounded.
"Yes, that should be it! He looks so in love with her. She's so lucky. How can I get one like that?" A nurse interrupted the doctors' conversation.
"Dream on! Do you know who that was? That's Prince Benjamin Wright Vern Dupont from Northernlands! His brother recently got married and I saw their family portrait online." A male doctor said.
"What??! A prince? This is getting more interesting! Oh no, will Dr Zane move to Northernlands after she got married? We will not get another surgeon as good as her." The first female doctor said.
Dr Gerald Lee left the doctor's lounge in anger. All the chitter chatter earlier only served to fan the flames in his heart. He went to his car and the moment he got in, he instantly slammed his fist on the steering wheel, shouting in frustration, before breaking down in tears.
