Chapter 6: 6. Blissful Night
Benjamin didn't leave Alexandra's room immediately but instead he studied her room. The room was huge and the bedroom was separated by a huge sliding door in the middle. Beyond the sliding door, there was a seating area, a mini library as well as a grand piano situated in the middle of the room. The design was minimalistic with a touch of elegance.
Benjamin looked intently at Alexandra and found that the more he looked at her, the stronger feelings he had to touch her and caress her face but decided against it in the end. He left the room feeling helpless.
Alexandra didn't think she could easily dozed off. She had always been on her guard and thus no matter how tired she would be after a long day at work, she would endure and only fell asleep once she got home.
She remembered vaguely being carried by a warm embrace and for once she felt safe. The feeling was wonderful, like being cared by a loved one. She woke up in the middle of night feeling hot and uncomfortable. Only then did she realized she was still in her work clothes. Noting the only possibility, Benjamin must had been the one who carried her up to her room. Alexandra smiled at this thought. She checked her phone and noticed a message from Sophia confirming her guess and also to inform her that Benjamin had decided to stay over at the Manor.
With the knowledge that Benjamin was only a few doors away from her, Alexandra suddenly became nervous. However, she decided not to dwell on this and decided to take a shower. After shower, Alexandra felt so much better but her grumbling tummy caused her to frown. Due to her hectic schedule at work, she had skipped dinner and now was feeling hungry. Not wanting to disturb Sophia, Alexandra decided to cook something for herself.
In his room, Benjamin couldn't fall asleep no matter what. He had a strong urge to go over and check on Alexandra but felt it's not appropriate. No matter what, he was just her bodyguard. In the end, he decided to go down and have a glass of water.
When he approached the kitchen, there was a delicious aroma wafting in the air. The scene which greeted him caused him to stop in his tracks and he was mesmerised. Alexandra was standing in front of the stove, cooking something. Her long hair was let down, cascading down to her waist. But what caused his heart to pound erratically was her attire. She was dressed in a black silk negligee that was so short, it barely covered her thighs. Her long sexy legs were exposed and his mind started racing with thoughts he shouldn't have at the moment. The top part of that devilish negligee wasn't helpful either. It barely covered her bosom and he could see she wasn't wearing anything underneath the damned thing.
He had to summon all his willpower not to react to this enticing beauty in front him. Taking a deep breath, Benjamin coughed lightly to alert Alexandra. She immediately turned at the sound of his cough and when she saw that it was him, she blushed. Her hands immediately covered her chest, looking awkward at his sudden appearance.
Not knowing what to say, Benjamin sensed her awkwardness and straightaway took an apron hanging near him. He walked over to her and helped her tie the apron over her body. Benjamin realized her hair was still damp and figured she must had just taken a shower. Upon finishing what he intended to do, Benjamin suddenly had a mischievous thought and leaning closer to her ears, he asked, "What are you cooking?"
Startled, Alexandra was snapped back to her senses and turned her head in his direction. However, by doing that, her lips unintentionally brushed against Benjamin's. For a few seconds, none of them moved as they looked at each other's eyes. Alexandra was the first to move away and managed to stutter a soft apology.
Benjamin sensed a fleeting moment of desire in Alexandra's eyes during the few seconds interval and decided to take his chances. He moved closer to Alexandra, gently lifted her chin and forced her to look at him. She was surprised by his action and looked at him with a puzzled expression.
Benjamin smiled at her and looked deep into her eyes. Sensing no rejection from her, he leaned in and place a gentle kiss on her lips.
Alexandra's POV
Alexandra was happily cooking in the kitchen when a light cough startled her. She turned around and good heavens, there he was standing at the kitchen entrance just staring at her. Alexandra was flustered. She immediately tried to cover her almost exposed chest and thinking whether to act normal, or excused herself and ran to her room. She was sure no one would be awake at this time. Therefore she had come down only in her nightgown without any robe on. Before she could react further, Benjamin suddenly walked over with an apron in his hand and was busy tying the same for her.
Alexandra was very much aware of how close Benjamin was to her at this time. Not to mention, this guy decided to also come down without wearing anything but only his sweatpants. His naked upper body was so sexy and his abs screamed to be touched. Standing so close to her, Alexandra could smell a subtle masculine fragrance coming from him. Her body went stiff with unfamiliar emotions rushing through her. What shocked her most was the fact that her lower body seemed to have a mind of its own and a feeling of wanting to be touched arose in her.
Suddenly, she heard his voice and startled, she turned, causing her lips to brush against his. What was a mere few seconds felt like forever and she came to her senses and backed away, apologising to him. In truth fact, she was wondering why the hell must she apologised!
Unexpectedly, Benjamin moved closer and lifted her face to kiss her. She didn't expect this but at the same time, she didn't dislike the kiss. Sensing Benjamin pulling away from her, Alexandra did the unimaginable. She kissed him back. The way Benjamin kissed her was so sensual yet it was so soft and slow at the same time, it was as if he was savouring every moment of it.
When Alexandra finally pulled away from Benjamin, she noticed a trace of disappointment in his eyes. She couldn't believe they had kissed! 'Oh my God, what have I done?!'
