Sir Dominic Zane looked at his daughter tenderly and with so much love. The girl in front of him was his only child and the future heiress to Zane Corp, a multi-billion company which specializes in various fields, ranging from medical, fashion, sports, food, entertainment to the ever evolving information technology. Zane Corp's business ventures were not only confined to Azteria, but all over the world. Sir Dominic Zane himself was a genius in the business world, and nothing could ever stand in his way should he decide on something. From a young age, Alexandra was trained personally by him. He was lucky to have a child who not only inherit his good looks, but also his brains. Alexandra exhibited an amazing business acumen and able to quickly grasp the business principles and tactics imparted to her by her father. Sir Dominic Zane was extremely pleased with his daughter's abilities that he even had plan to retire early and leave everything to Alexandra when she's ready.
Apart from business, Alexandra was also highly proficient in music, arts, fashion and cooking. Given her competitive nature, she also partake in competitive sports and excelled in defence martial arts especially jiujitsu and boxing. However, Sir Dominic Zane also realized that although his precious daughter was excellent in whatever fields she's interested in, nothing compared to the field of medicine. Since young, Alexandra had spent a lot of her free time reading medical journals, medical textbooks, medical researches and whatever materials she could get in relation to the medical field. When she turned 16, she was accepted to study medicine at one of the best universities in the country. Given Alexandra's high intelligence and quick grasp of knowledge, she managed to complete her studies in just 2 years.
Now she was in her first year residency at the National Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the world. She had also told him that she wanted to be a heart surgeon. Hence, Sir Dominic Zane decided not to pressure his daughter in taking over the business so soon but to allow her to pursue whatever she wanted to do first without any pressure. In his mind, nothing must compromise the happiness of Alexandra. That was his ultimate goal in this life. Whatever Alexandra wanted, she would get them without questions.
"Well, Alex? What do you think?" Sir Dominic Zane asked his daughter with concern, seeing she didn't give any response.
"Yes dad, whatever you arranged is good for me. I have no objections." Alexandra was snapped back to reality hearing her father's concerned voice.
Benjamin Wright looked at the young woman before him. His first reaction when he saw her walked into the room left him feeling overwhelmed. He knew Alexandra Zane, if not too well. This was not the first time they met, but he doubt she would even remember him. He had been in love with her since the first day he saw her, and that love grew stronger with each passing day. For years, he yearned to be near this girl, and finally his wish came true. To be able to stand near her, in the same room, his heart swelled with joy. Benjamin couldn't believe his luck. He had longed for this day for far too long. However, his position now didn't permit him to show such emotions. The people in front of him were now his employers, and he needed to show his professionalism.
"Mr Wright, it's a pleasure to meet you." Alexandra extended her hand to him with a smile.
"Ms Zane, the pleasure is all mine. Please call me Benjamin." Benjamin replied and took her hand in his.
The moment their hands touched, Benjamin's heart trembled. The feelings he had for her nearly erupted and he wanted to just pull her into his arms and embrace her. He had to muster all his restraint not to do that and let go after awhile.
"Okay then, Benjamin, we will expect you here tomorrow morning. Alexandra will give you her instructions." With that note, Sir Dominic Zane sent him off.
Benjamin nodded slightly to Sir Dominic Zane and Alexandra and exited the room.
Outside, Benjamin's thoughts wondered to the first day he met Alexandra.
The Past
Benjamin Wright's full name was Benjamin Wright Vern Dupont, and he was the second born son of the Dupont royal family from Northernlands. Ever since he was young, Benjamin was sent by his parents to live and study abroad, under his pseudonym Benjamin Wright. His older brother Aaron, being the heir to the Dupont family, was raised in the main family in Northernlands. Despite living abroad by himself, Benjamin had never once felt neglected. His parents and older brother always kept in constant contact with him and visited him often whenever they could.
His father, the Archduke William Wright Vern Dupont, had explained to him that the main reason why Benjamin was sent to live abroad was to ensure that he had a well rounded life and not restricted by the rules and etiquette of the royal family. Aaron always joked that Benjamin was the favoured one as he himself didn't have such privileges. Benjamin knew this was how his parents showed their utmost love and consideration towards him.
From young, Benjamin's carefree and rebellious nature was apparent and he was always unwilling to follow the family rules. Aaron, being the matured one, had advised his parents not to pressure this precious younger brother of his and to let him live his life unrestricted. Therefore, Benjamin had always been grateful to Aaron and loved his older brother dearly. Everytime Aaron came down for a visit, these two brothers were inseparable and would share everything in their lives.
When he was 16 years old, Benjamin remembered rushing home from school to meet his parents and Aaron who had just arrived. In his rush, he didn't realize an oncoming cyclist and crashed into it. Seeing Benjamin not badly hurt, the cyclist apologized and immediately sped off. In reality, Benjamin's knees were scrapped and he was in pain. He limped to a nearby bench to rest before calling his parents. However before he could do that, he sensed a presence in front of him. When he looked up, he saw the most beautiful girl he had ever seen in his life. The girl was smiling at him, a glint of sympathy flashed on her deep green-blue eyes. Behind her stood an elderly man, dressed in black. At first glance it was obvious that the man was either her chauffeur or bodyguard.
"Are you ok?" She asked while squatting down in front of him.
"Err... ye..yes, I'm fine." Benjamin managed to stutter a reply.
"Uncle Sam, give me the kit." She gestured to the man in black. Immediately, a first aid kit was given to this young miss. Benjamin was surprised and couldn't react in time when the girl suddenly took out an ointment and some other first aid stuffs.
"This might sting a lil bit. Bear with it." She said while applying the alcohol swap to clean the wounded area.
Benjamin flinched when the medicine was applied to both his knees. Apart from that, he didn't say anything but he kept staring at her. The beautiful girl looked younger than him, but her demeanour showed maturity beyond her age. Her face showed seriousness while applying the medicine. Her dark hair was shoulder length and tied back with a clip. She was dressed casual in jeans and a t-shirt. Despite her casual attire and demeanour, her aura exuded nobility and one could tell her background was not as simple as her attire.
