"When last did you hear from your sister?" Rose asked when they were alone.
"It's been long, why did you ask," Jace replied.
"She'd be coming over by the weekend," Rose announced and the food in Jace's mouth suddenly lost its taste.
"What's she coming for? Is she tired of running away?"
"That's your sister you're talking about," Rose cautioned.
"That doesn't change the fact that she's incorrigible. I don't have the energy to deal with her right now as I have more pressing things to handle," Jace said.
"Are you referring to Grace?" Rose asked as a bright smile adorned her face.
Jace could see how much his mother liked Grace. He wondered how happy she'd be when she learns that they were now together.
"Aside from Grace, don't I have other things to be concerned about?"
"What's more important than your future partner. It seems you're not putting enough effort to get her. Do you really love her?"
