Richard leaned back in his chair, his brows furrowed. "You might be right, but it's wise to be cautious. We've been fooled before. It's not easy to trust after what happened."

Rose reached beside her, touching her husband's hand gently. "I understand your concerns, but I really believe Grace is genuine. Did you see how Charles is so attached to and comfortable around her? That's not something you can fake."

Thomas nodded slowly, though his expression remained guarded. "I saw it. But I've also seen how deceptive appearances can be. Let's not get carried away. Time will tell if she's truly different."

An inexplicable smile spread across Rose's face. "I suppose you're right. But I have a good feeling about her. I think she's just what Charles and Jace need."
