Chapter 34: Family Meeting Gone Astray

As we stepped inside, another woman, dressed in elegant attire with long brown hair and a warm smile, approached us from a room on the right.

"Welcome," she exclaimed.

Emily quickly made introductions. "Gray, this is my mom, Veronica," she said, gesturing towards her mother. Then, turning to her mother, Emily continued, "Mom, this is my boyfriend, Graham."

Veronica extended her hand towards me. "Nice to meet you, Graham," she said warmly.

"Great to meet you too," I replied with a smile.

After Emily's mother, her father stepped into view.

He was a good-looking middle-aged man with dark hair, his gaze sharp and assessing.

Emily stepped up, her eyes lighting up. "Dad, this is Gray."

I extended my hand. "Mr. Ruth, it's a pleasure to meet you," I said, wanting to be more formal as it was the first time meeting them and considering Emily's family name was Ruth.
