How Come?

What a cruel memory...

"Shift," Roman suddenly said to little Caesar, and dropped into the bed with a heavy thud. 

Caesar shifted on the bed for him, and both laid down on their backs, eyes fixed on the ceiling. 

"Are there people like you out there? Nice like you, Roman? That…don't hurt?" he asked, raising his small hand and spreading his little fingers apart in a playful manner.  

Roman shook his head. "Maybe. I don't know. It's really scary, mother and father said so. But you know, we will find out after we run to nice land." 

"Nice land?" Caesar glanced at him with curiosity.  

He laughed softly. "That's what we'll call it because there will be nice people there. Father or mother will not be able to find us there."
