A Mockery?

They'd never seen anything like Adeline. She was different, unlike the humans they had ever met.  

The little kids would hide behind their parents, able to smell her human scent. They had never smelled such a scent before as they were never allowed out of the pack. 

Adeline's gaze landed on one of the little pups, hiding behind his little brother. He was too cute, with little pointy wolf ears on the other side of his head.

She was screaming internally; this was something she'd never glimpsed before and she wanted to hold him.  

So cute! She had the freaking urge to touch and pet the little boy, but knowing the child would either run or the glares would intensify, she decided to keep her hands to herself. It was better to stay out of trouble. '
