Chapter 96: Where The Hell Is Adeline?

It was Varvara sitting on the stool close to the bed. She held an empathetic, pitiful look, a little tinge of guilt flickering in her eyes.

Above her forehead was a bandage, and he could immediately tell that it was where she'd sustained a wound when Adeline smashed her face into the wall.

Adeline! Dimitri's eyes flew open, and he quickly jackknifed himself on the bed, but as soon as bone-chilling aches and pain hit him all over his body, he squeezed his eyes shut, groaning in pain. "Fuck!!!"

Varvara quickly hurried up the stool to attend to him. "Are you okay? Should I call the nurse?"

Dimitri shot her a withering glare.

"Where the hell is Adeline?!" he questioned.

Varvara drew her head back, glowering. "She's the first person you ask about…the second you wake up?" She was in disbelief. "Dimitri, I'm your wife."
