I opened my eyes to find that I was back in my bed.
"What was that nightmare…huh….?"
I found my mother crying to my right.
"Mother…? What's wrong?!" I asked frantically.
"Cassian?! You're awake?!" She suddenly shouted.
She hugged me as if I had revived and my father silently entered the room.
"Why would I be dead? Ow!"
Suddenly, she grabbed my ear.
"You unfilial son how could you go outside and pass out on the street?!"

My mother looked back with an angry expression at my father.
"Oh! Ahh, what I meant to say is that you made a big mistake, Cassian!" My father pulled back.

The Fourth panel had the picture of a man sitting crosslegged on top of an incredibly high mountain with a book in his hands, endless streams of glowing energy flowed into his heart as a giant beast sat to his right and a thousand glowing swords floated around him. Unlike the other photos this man had a face and on it was a warm smile.

My brain accelerated and analyzed each description and picture with extreme precision. In an instant I had made my choice.
"I'll choose the 4th [Nameless God]! it sounds good and the picture shows a good variety."

Upon making my choice unconscious tears streamed down my face. I wiped and wiped my eyes but the tears kept coming.
"Stop… huh? Why is it…? Why am..I..?"
The tears would not stop and I just kept wiping and wiping with my hands as strange memories entered my mind.
"Who…or..what is this…?"
Memories of one-sided love, betrayals, deaths, and simply put loneliness. Within these memories a loneliness was ever prevalent, happiness was rare and a smile usually cost enormous sadness, as if from birth a depressing path was set. Seeing this reminded me of my first life though I never tasted love nor friendship and the only short term happiness I tasted was from reading the novel. The loneliness of the strongest that sat at the peak of existence was what I understood.
The memories went on for a bit before they stopped, soon the tears also stopped. I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.
"What a warm smile for a man who lived such a depressing life. Our lives are similar but he definitely had it worse." I was left thinking.
