Chapter 4: CHAPTER 4
There were many heirs to the knights and the lords. He had let his horse be parked at the stable and walked to the house. He smiled and entered the big house that was borrowed from the lord. He looked at the people and smiled at the lords and knights. He walked to the knight and smiled and greeted him. The knight-heir was happy to see him as they had grown up together and he looked at them. He did not have any feelings for them but he had to have some connections. He smiled and greeted him, "It is nice to see you Rob. I heard you were going to take over your father's position."
Rob smiled and said, "That is true as father is tired. He will be taking the position of the accountant of sector 4."
John looked at him and gave the box and said, "It is good to hear. Take this as my gift for your marriage. I will give you another one on the day of your knighthood."
Rob smiled and took and gave it to his wife. Lucy was the daughter of the baron who was weak in its own manner. He had not taken care about the territory and had taken care about business. He was indeed much higher than him in position. Rob did not care about the intricate design but that was not the case for Lucy. She looked at the delicate design and gasped. Her sisters and friends were indeed interested in seeing the design and some lords and knights understood the good design.
Lucy took the box and opened it to see a wonderful silver jewelry. It was much interesting to see their faces as the necklace was something unseen in this world. The value of gifts given would not rise to the level of a few gold coin and such one could indeed be sold for a few tens of gold coins. Rob smiled happily and shook the hands of John and said, "Thank you my friend. You will always be my friend."
John said, "We are always friends Rob."
They talked about some common things and he walked to the side. He could only see some copper plates and glasses. It seems that they have method of purifying aluminum. He decided to make money from the rich but he had to show off his power or make some money from them. He observed the knights closely to see their strength but found nothing special. It seems that skills in swordsmanship and warfare command is more important than what it seems to him. He had to learn these things. He decided to go to the library as he wanted to learn more. He had the right to do so as he was one among the nobility.
He looked at the food and started to eat it. He had not eaten anything good as he was not a good cook. This world unlike the modern world did not have many information and knowledge online. He missed those worlds where he could just stay at home and order some instant noodles. He really missed those things.
Viscount Roger came to him and asked with a chuckle, "Why are they tears in your eyes? Is the food that tasteless."
John looked at him. He could not say that he missed the food of his previous life and he could not say that this food was not so good. He could only say, "I just miss my mother's food."
Roger sighed thinking about the sad Paul who was still caught up in the sadness of his wife. He looked at the sad child. He had heard that he was bought up in a place far away to let him become stronger and was kept away from luxury. He sighed and looked at the child and said, "Keep up. Come to me if you have anything."
Roger left as he did not want to coax some children. He will take the man under him another day. He had to get some jewelry so that he could get caught with lady Barbara and make her his concubine. He will get the jewelry later.
