Chapter 4: Until we meet again
(4 Days later) (Jack's PoV)
'Phew old man clover sure is a neat freak with how extra clean he wants me to clean up the library, but at least the pay is worth it.' I thought as I was heading to my secret spot where I keep all my money hidden. 'Soon we will have enough money for our boat and travels. I wonder where Robin is, she's been disappearing for long hours these past few days. Maybe next time I should follow her to see what she's doing, or I can just ask her. It's not like we keep secrets from each other anymore.' Speak of the devil and there she is.
"Hey Robin whatcha up to, you've been disappearing alot lately. *gasp* could it be you found someone to replace" I feigned sadness.
"Why yes, yes I did. He's big, strong, and funny derishishishi."
"What's up with that laugh, it sounds funny. Are you going to introduce me to this new friend of yours, I just wanna talk to him and see how big and strong he is."
"Sure, but you have to promise not to mention him to anybody else."
"Dont worry, my lips are sealed."
While following her, I wonder what this new friend looks like and why I felt slightly anoyyed at the thought of Robin being with someone else alone. Once we reached a more secluded side of the island where nobody usually goes to, there I could easily see him even from a distance.
"Woah he's huge." I muttered out loud.
"He's even bigger when you're standing infront of him." Added Robin.
"SAULLLL I'M BACKKKK." she yelled to the literal giant sitting on the beach.
He has long, orange hair and a big beard that seems to connect around his entire face. He is wearing a black shirt and gray jeans that are a little tattered. On top of his head he has a cowboy hat too.
"Robin you're back Derishishishi, and is this boy the Jack you're always talking about." Saul the giant said.
"Yup that's him but I didn't always talk about him, I only mentioned him a little." Robin replied as she hid her face due to embarrassment.
"Ahhhh youth, such a precious thing derishishishi. Anyways I am Jaguar D Saul but you can call me Saul. Robin found me unconscious here and has been helping treat my wounds."
"Saul has amnesia so he can't remember much like how he was hurt or how he ended up here. Once he's better we're gonna build a boat so he can leave the island. I kinda also told him about what we plan to do in the future and he suggested to take us with him but I wanted to ask you first what do you think?"
"Heeee, nice to meet you. I'm Jack, no family name. As for sailing with him, I don't mind. Since you trust him it means he's trustable and this way we have someone strong with us."

(2 days later) (3rd PoV)
After Robin introduced Jack to Saul, they started visiting him and spent most of their time at his location. On the 5th day Saul was able to start building a boat so they could all leave together one day. However their plans had to be put on hold when the fir- *ahem* marines arrived with a large fleet.
Robin finally met her mom but in dire circumstances. Professor Clover revealed his findings about the void century to the 5 elders. Sakazuki aka future Akainu killed all the people on the boat just incase one of them is secretly a researcher. The rest of the buster call fleet was bombarding the island. Saul confronted Kuzan aka future Aokiji to help Robin escape.
(I summarized this since it's too much useless words just to repeat canon events so a summary seemed better just in case you're new to OP or forgot what happened.)
While this was all happening, Jack was quickly packing what he could from his secret stash spot. Once he felt he packed enough with the little time he had, he hurriedly went to where they prepared the boat. Luckily on his way he met Robin who's trying her best to hold the tears and snot falling down her face.
"Robin, thank god you're alright. Let's head to the boat, Saul should be there then we can all escape."
"Jack, Saul he-he-he's fighting a vice admiral just to help me escape. He said not to look back and for both us to leave without him."
" *Sigh* what a terrible day this is. Let's go Robin, we can't let Saul's sacrifice be in vain. If we're lucky he'll survive this and we can meet in the future." Reassured Jack.
Fortunately the way to the boat was easy except for the constant sound of explosions in the distance. As Robin got on, their hope was shattered when Jack felt something poking his back.
"Stop right there criminals, for breaking a taboo you must all be killed. Luckily I waited here to see if someone was gonna use this boat. Now turn around." Said the marine pointing his gun to Jack's back.
"Wait wait, we aren't researchers, we are both just orphans that live on this island. We are too young to even be allowed to researcher anything." Jack explained as he looked at the marine.
"Hmm what you said might or might not be true and even if I did spare you, you both might be future enemies. As vice admiral Sakazuki says, justice needs to be thorough so take no chances."
"Well if you're gonna kill us can I at least let me say some final towards to her?" Pleaded Jack as he looked at Robin's worried and scared face.
The marine hesitated for a second before relenting.
"Fine but make it short and you can't move from your place."
"Robin, you trust completely don't you?"
"Mhmm"
"I'm sorry I can't keep the promise we made to sail together but what I can promise is that if you stay strong and never look back we will see each other again. That's my promise to you so no matter what happens believe in me and live on until we meet again now GOOOO." As Jack said that he pulled out a fist sized metalball with a button on it and lunged at the marine pushing him to the ground before pressing the button.
*BOOOOOOOOOM* a mini explosion made of wind exploded sending Jack into the air unconscious while the marine was turned into paste since the pressure pressed him into the ground. Meanwhile a fading scream "JAAAAACK" can be heard from the boat sent flying forward in the sea away from the destruction.
A/N: I'm finally gonna start writing this fic but it's gonna be slow especially with finals coming and me being overworked at work due to being understaffed. Oh well I just hope you guys liked the chapter.🤷♂️
