Chapter 48: A happy loli
Shalltear appeared in her home within Nazarick, flesh amalgamation in hand.
She threw the creature at one of her Vampire brides with no care for her safety, after all, why should she care about some old, used, shitty toys?
Nonetheless, the vampire, with a big grin on her face, commanded all the vampire brides.
"Bring that thing to my bedroom and make sure not to damage it! I will pay you extra attention if you fail~" With that, she suddenly disappeared, teleporting away.
As Shalltear teleported away, Aura could be seen excitedly jumping around in the Amphitheater with Sebas looking as stoic as ever.
"C'mon Sebas! Please tell me you have good news!?" (Aura)
"I am sorry Miss Aura, but I cannot take you outside of Nazarick, Miss Albedo has denied your request." (Sebas)
She looked devastated.
"Seriously...? Haaaahh..." She scratched her head, "Well, thank you for trying I guess-" (Sebas)
Suddenly, she was interrupted as Shalltear suddenly appeared out of thin air and dashed at her, hugging her in pure joy.
"Hahaha Aura! You won't believe it!" Shalltear then picked the girl up and spun her around, only then noticing Sebas.
She very quickly composed herself and acted as if nothing had happened.
With a very professional bow, she greeted the head butler.
"Greeting Sebas." (Shalltear)
"Greetings Miss Shalltear." Sebas returned the professional courtesy, bowing a bit deeper than her. "May I know what had you so jubilated?" He asked.
"Oh well... Uh..." She blushed slightly.
The reason she is so happy quickly came to Aura, after all, she was still troubled that Thoth seemed to not be having much fun doing anything. In other words, Shalltear was scared Thoth may become depressed, however, whatever happened must have made this unlikely.
As for the blush? Well...
Aura chuckled with evil intent.
"Did you go on a date~?" Aura couldn't help but get a huge grin seeing Shalltear turn to her at the speed of light, redder than before.
"W-What!?" Her eyes were wide, but she quickly lied, "Pff! No...!" She then muttered to herself, "I-I don't think it was a date anyway..." She played with her fingers a bit, contemplating.
"Oh. My. Gods... Shalltear Bloodfallen!" Aura grinned and looked down at Shalltear with her hand hovering above her mouth, "You went on a date and are flustered about it!"
"I-I-I AM NOT!" She sure tried to sound imposing, but the stutter caused by her flustered state made her sound more cute and shy rather than scary and imposing.
"I-I'll have you know that I was just going to accept his invitation to try and ask him if he is okay! Nothing else!"
"That is very kind of you Miss Shalltear." Sebas nodded, approving of this.
Shalltear, detecting a chance to change the flow of the conversation, put on an air of grandeur and confidence.
"Ah~ I am truly just too kind!" (Shalltear)
Aura then whispered into Shalltear's ear.
"Did you kiss?" (Aura)
Shalltear's poor smokescreen was crushed before it even formed, leaving her flustered expression out in the open as her confidence evaporated.
"W-What!? W-Why would we!"
"So you didn't... Hehe... I'll steal that then~" Aura took great pleasure as her teasing got under Shalltear's skin.
Before things went further, Sebas spoke up.
"Apologies but I must leave, I have other pressing matters to attend to." He only got a wave from Aura as Shalltear yelled again.
"YOU WILL WHAT!?" (Shalltear)
Sebas couldn't help but shake his head as Aura giggled, he then walked away.
He is certainly most glad that, if nothing else, Shalltear is improving thanks to Thoth.
She has matured a lot, even if some of her most childish tendencies prevail despite her best efforts. Still, even this much progress is most impressive.
Either way, he should probably inform Albedo that the Amphitheater is likely to suffer some damage... Yes, he will do that next.
And so he headed to Albedo's office.
Meanwhile, Shalltear was busy pretending not to care.
With puffed-up cheeks, she turned her head dismissively.
"Hmph! Like I care!" (Shalltear)
"Oh okay! I'll tell Thoth that you don't care then~"
Shalltear turned back immediately.
"Don't you dare!" (Shalltear)
Seeing that Shalltear was getting a bit too worked up, Aura stopped teasing the poor girl.
"Don't worry Shallty I was only kidding! It was a joke!" (Aura)
"Haaahh... You aren't funny." (Shalltear)
"And you don't have a chest, what more is new?" Shalltear rolled her eyes.
"Hmm, but seriously, what did you two do anyway? I can't imagine Thoth being into... Most of the things you are into." (Aura)
"Oh! We did some fun things! I didn't get to do a lot of the fun stuff I wanted to do though..." (Shalltear)
Aura gave Shalltear a deadpan look, shaking her head slightly.
"You were gonna screw the corpses?" (Aura)
"I was gonna screw the corpses." Shalltear nodded with absolutely no shame. Shalltear then ignored Aura, who just sighed, and continued.
"But this is great right!? I don't have to be worried about Thoth anymore!" Shalltear almost jumped in joy.
"Yeah, so will you stop seeing him? Or following him?" Aura raised an eyebrow, already knowing Shalltear's response.
"E-Eh?" The loli seemed taken aback, not expecting this question. "I mean, um..."
Aura sighed again, already expecting this.
To her, the vampire has developed the beginnings of a crush, so even if she doesn't realize why, she is looking for an excuse to be around him.
Aura couldn't help but ask herself when she turned into a matchmaker, but oh well, she dug her own grave it seems.
"Shalltear, you know you don't need an excuse to be with Thoth right?" (Aura)
"E-eh? I mean yeah! But it's just that I have work to do and I have to read those books to help Lord Ainz feel better too! Not to mention I need to have my daily fun with the brides... Speaking of which I need to get to that later." (Shalltear)
Aura raised an eyebrow.
"And yet you could stalk Thoth for hours?" (Aura)
"H-How do you even know about that?! I was extremely stealthy!" (Shalltear)
She was not.
"You were not. All of Nazarick knows by now, even the level one maids noticed you 'sneaking' around. You think Thoth hasn't?" (Aura)
Shalltear looked truly devastated as she facepalmed.
"Agh! I must have looked so stupid!" (Shalltear)
Aura kept her agreement to herself for the loli's well-being.
"Don't worry, I think you're fine, it's the thought that counts!" (Aura)
Shalltear looked confused. Almost as if she was pondering the greatest question known to man.
"It's the Thoth that counts?" (Shalltear)
Aura facepalmed at the incredible pun, truly, it was the funniest thing this multiverse had ever witnessed.
Shalltear, who did not even realize the terrible joke she had made was a joke at all, leaned her head to the side, confused as to why Aura facepalmed.
"Don't question it." (Aura)
Shalltear did, in fact, not question it.
Aura looked at Shalltear as Shalltear awkwardly stood there, feeling Aura's gaze burrow into her soul.
The reason for this is simple: Aura did not know if she should tell Shalltear about her feelings, or help her out with them, point her in the right direction, and so on.
It might cause more harm than good, Shalltear might push against the idea initially, which could sink the relationship, but by helping successfully, the two would probably get together...
...But it's been a good month since Thoth last visited her, and that kinda stung.
He remembered hanging out with Shalltear while absolutely furious and with other concerns on his mind, but not Aura during his free time when he didn't have a lot to do? That hurts.
Aura shook her head, dismissing the thoughts. He would visit her soon... She hoped.
Suddenly, as she contemplated what to do or say, she received a message from Albedo.
"Aura, come to the throne room immediately, Lord Ainz wishes to meet with you." (Albedo)
"On my way!" (Aura)
Aura then turned to Shalltear, a slight guilt in her eyes.
"Sorry Shalltear, but I have to go, Lord Ainz summoned me." (Aura)
"O-oh okay! Good luck!" (Shalltear)
With Aura leaving, Shalltear pondered on what to do, but remembering the amalgamation waiting in her bed, she couldn't help but rush over there.
Oh, the things she had in store!
And so the true vampire rushed to her abode, where she then proceeded to **** the **** and **** *** *** ****** **** ***** with a throbbing *****.
the couple screamed in pure agony as she grabbed one of the brides and shoved it into **** ********.
After this, the whole room was covered in blood, none of which was Shalltear's of course.
The amalgamation had grown, like a mad scientist, Shalltear laughed as she looked upon her majestic creation.
Shalltear herself could be seen lying in her large, opulent Victorian bed with the blob next to her. Her arm is attached to the thing, connected to it through healing magic, making it possible for her to feel everything the blob felt.
She ripped her arm out, separating it from the echo chamber that the blob's minds had become.
Shalltear, naked beneath her bed's sheets, turned to the blob and moved her arm back.
And with a single punch, the abomination was a mere stain on the wall.
The experimenting was certainly fun, she even managed to make sure all of them felt everything the others felt! Locking them in an eternal cycle of bliss, suffering, or whatever else she wanted!
Ha! And people say she is hopeless!
...Well, maybe a bit, but still! This was certainly an incredibly... satisfying... technique to use, and she would inform Demiurge of this technique too. She also has to give credit to Thoth of course.
Ah, how her insides craved that kind of experience again! She managed to connect her arm to the blob and then make it feel pure bliss, never had she felt that kind of high in her life!
Well, it's destroyed now, not that she cared, she had lots of toys to spare, and a few had grown a bit too stale for her... Excluding the dead ones, of course, those are meant to be stale.
Haaahh~ Her only complaint is that when she is in the mood for one of those, she needs to take a slime and have it fill their veins around their thingies so they would stand, she would die of boredom otherwise.
Oh, woe is her, dealing with the struggles of a necrophilic vampire, and also... All the kinks humanity has created in its short yet long existence.
With a sigh, she got up and dressed herself, commanding the brides who were spared to clean the mess up, which they did without complaint.
Not that they could ever complain. Not even Lenin could create a worker's revolution with the sheer terror the brides felt at all times toward their master.
Shalltear licked the blood off of her skin with her long tongue as she walked out of her home, which looked like a large mausoleum, and into the surrounding graveyard.
She happily hummed to herself as she considered what to do, her next patrol would happen in around 10 minutes, so she could do something...
With a thought, she teleported to Ainz's office only to find it empty, after asking for where Lord Ainz is, she teleported to the throne room, from which Thoth and Aura could be seen walking out.
"You have a dragon ready to go?" (Thoth)
"Yeah, let's go kill some humans!" (Aura)
"Only if they refuse, remember, the emperor is critical for Lord Ainz's great plan." (Thoth)
"Yeah yeah sure!" Aura then grabbed Thoth's hand and teleported away with him as they gave Shalltear a quick wave, seemingly in too much of a hurry to say hi.
Shalltear entered the throne room where Ainz could be seen sitting upon his immense throne, looking at his staff as it spun in the air by itself.
He immediately noticed Shalltear approaching, she kneeled beneath Ainz, but he immediately motioned for her to rise, so she did.
"Hello Shalltear, what can I help you with at this moment?" (Ainz)
"Ah Lord Ainz, I merely wished to give you a recommendation for a torture technique Thoth discovered! I experimented with it for a while and I think it's amazing!" (Shalltear)
Ainz nodded.
"I see, I suggest you speak with Demiurge about that." Shalltear seemed a bit saddened, she wanted to brag to Lord Ainz and get praise for her efforts! But oh well.
Ainz, noticing this sudden sadness, spoke up.
"I must say you are very hard-working Shalltear, I am impressed with your initiative." (Ainz)
Shalltear felt her smile grow as she controlled the urge to squeal, Ainz continued to speak.
"Say, you were with Thoth? I couldn't help but notice he reached out to have you join him. Are you two friends?"
Shalltear felt her cheeks (somehow) flush slightly as she remembered Aura's teasing, but she cleared her throat and pretended it was fine.
"Yes Lord Ainz, I think Thoth and I are friends." (Shalltear)
Ainz nodded and held his chin bone as if contemplating something.
"Say, would you like to go on a mission with Thoth? I don't have anything in mind so far, but I feel you two could learn much from one another while also having some fun."
Of course, Ainz knew too damn well Shalltear would be the only one learning anything, but his desire for them to have fun together was genuine. After all, they are both children. He could also send Aura and Mare, but if he remembers correctly, Albedo mentioned them being needed in the used-to-be Theocracy and the Elf Kingdom soon, so he cannot pull them away for now.
How sad, he would make the group go on a field trip together somewhere nice soon. That he promised himself.
"I would love to Lord Ainz! Just give the word and I'll go to the end of the world for you!" (Shalltear)
"That's now how I meant it. Do you want to go alone with Thoth somewhere? It's not an order or a work thing, it is a vacation and a question that I want a genuine answer to." (Ainz)
"..." x2
Shalltear pondered for a while, she could get a lot more done if she didn't go...
But... Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.
"...I would love that Lord Ainz." (Shalltear)
"Excellent, then if that is all, please leave me be, I have much to think about." (Ainz)
Shalltear politely bowed and excused herself, she then left the throne room.
As she walked, she couldn't help but feel excited, and not in a lewd way. Mostly.
"You went on a date with him and are flustered about it~" (Past Aura)
Shalltear shook her head, dismissing that nonsense, though...
Would it count as a date? If so, would this be a... Honeymoon?
Shalltear immediately suppressed such nonsense, Thoth is her friend, and nothing more than that! Right, he is an ally, friend, and fellow creation, nothing more!
With a confident "Umu!" Shalltear teleported to her floor where she did her patrols in peace.
Of course, during this time, Foresight, Aura, and Thoth all had important things to do, but for this moment, Shalltear felt rather...
Excited...
