"He's very tired that he immediately fell asleep." A smile flashed on Eniah's face. Her heart warmed as she slowly caressed Jayce's hair.
Gone back in the hospital room, Red's family was undoubtedly tired after a long and tiring day. Despite that, they surely enjoyed their time with one another.
Carrying a cup of coffee, Red went closer to her mother. "I'm surprised that Jayce had a lot of energy for today." He chuckled
"I'm sure our son had been wanting to do this for a while now. Maybe after hearing the doctor yesterday, he became happy," Jakob smiled as he sat on the couch.
Eniah slowly nodded. "Maybe we should take him out frequently after this. Our son had surely missed out on a lot of things after being stuck here for years."
"I'll have it all planned out soon, darling. Let's try to give Jayce more good memories while we can." Jakob thought of the good things that they could do as a family.
"I'm sure Jayce will be happy hearing that," Eniah agreed to it.
Eniah adjusted the blanket to cover Jayce's body completely. She then faced Red, who was on the side, just watching them.
"Do you need to go now, Red?" Eniah curiously asked as she caught a glimpse of the time on the wall.
Red slowly nodded. "I'm afraid so, Mom." he answered.
Eniah took a deep breath before smiling at Red. "You can go now, then. We'll inform you once your brother wakes up. I'm afraid that he'll be sleeping for the whole night."
Chuckling Red nodded, "Alright, Mom."
Red grabbed his phone from the charging outlet besides him and kept it in his pocket.
Standing up, Eniah looked at her husband worriedly. "You should go home too and rest for a while."
However, Jakob shook his head, disagreeing with it. "I'm fine, my dear wife. I brought all the paperwork that needs to be done here. You can rest first while I do this." he assured her.
"That's right. All Dad did today was eat all the leftover foods that Jayce couldn't finish." Red laughed, teasing Jakob, who was now glaring at him.
Eniah laughed with Red. "You insolent. Your father will complain to me again that he's gaining weight."
Red chuckled at her mother's complaint.
"I'll get going now then, Mom," Red uttered waving his hand at his mother before stepping aside to greet his father too. "You too Dad."
"Take care. Red."
Hearing his parents' goodbye, Red left the hospital room with a smile on his face. He may be tired, but he still felt happy today.
It was fortunate that after leaving the hospital, he immediately found a cab.
"Ahh, I'm so sleepy." Red yawned as soon as he boarded a cab.
Leaning against the cab's window, Red's eyes gazed over at the bustling streets. Even though it was night already, some stalls and restaurants were still open.
Different from the other days, there were a lot of people in the streets tonight. It must be because everyone was busy spending time with their family and loved ones.
They were probably making their rest day worth it, as tomorrow they would come back to their respective works and suffer in pain, once again.
"That would $32, Sir."
Red paid for the cab's fare. It was just a few minutes' ride, but the fare was surprisingly high.
Oh well, nothing's cheap nowadays.
As Red entered his apartment, he immediately removed his shoes and changed into his home clothes.
"Finally!" Red breathed out as he jumped on the be.
The softness of the mattress against his body, sent him to the bliss, in just seconds. It didn't take too long before darkness took him away as he closed his eyes and higged the pillow besdies him.
"Oh, sh*t."
Red's eyes widened when he realized that as he woke up, the sun was already glaring at his face.
That was the biggest problem.
The sun was supposed to be not out yet.
"F*ck, f*ck, f*ck," Red muttered a curse multiple times, confirming that he was already a few minutes late at his work.
Red, in the speed of light, stood up and went inside the bathroom. He took a bath at a world's record speed.
Red didn't even have the time to cook himself a good breakfast. He just grabbed a cracker and some bottle of coffee from the refrigeratot and drove his way to his workplace.
However, of course, will his lateness even be complete without traffic making it worse?
"You're late for an hour, Red." James greeted Red with a smile on his face as Red took a seat in his chair.
"I know," Red sighed, tilting his head to the side.
The supposed to be a 10-minute drive to his work, became 30 minutes because of traffic.
"You woke up late, didn't you?" James guessed after seeing Red's current stressed state.
Red's clothes weren't even properly ironed.
Red took a deep breath before nodding. "Yeah."
"Good thing our boss is not here yet. I heard there was a problem in the team. Do you have any idea about it?" James questioned when he realized that Red had an encounter with Mystic Ravens the last time.
"Nope, why?"
"I don't know. The timing is just weird. But, oh well,' James shrugged his shoulder, realizing that what he was saying was pointless.
"About what is it, though?" Red, who was still curious about the matter, continued to ask.
"Apparently, Hubert, their leader, asked the management that they need a 3-day vacation. Only the players and their coach. A friend of mine said, it's because they haven't spent time with one another." James chuckled as he found the reason utterly absurd.
"Ohhh." Red slowly nodded his head. A smile appeared on his lips as he heard about it.
"I knew it. They're not that helpless at all," Red uttered in a low voice. He was glad that even though there was a fight between him and Hubert, he still took his word.
It seemed like his saliva, that time, wasn't just wasted.
"Huh? What are you saying?" James looked at Red as if he was an alien from another planet.
Red chuckled, shaking his head.
"It's nothing."
However, James didn't believe Red's words. He eyed Red suspiciously.
"You've gone mad after being late?"
