Emotions

It didn't take long for Lex and Elle to reach outside, where Denver had already brought out the bike and parked it. He stood there while checking the bike.

"See all you want, not like you're ever going to have it," Lex said as he approached Denver.

Denver backed up, hearing his voice, and said, "What are you talking about? Heh, why would I want a bike like this when I can buy better ones."

"Oh? Do tell me the names of these better bikes please?" Lex asked in amusement.

Denver opened his mouth but closed it soon. He didn't have much knowledge about bikes, so even if there were better bikes out there, he wouldn't know.

Lex scoffed and said, "Never mind, just give me the keys. We don't have free time like you."

Denver clicked his tongue and threw the bike keys to Lex, who easily caught them.

Lex sat on the bike, wore his helmet, and said to Elle, "Come on! It won't take much time to reach your office."

Elle nodded and hopped on the backseat, wearing the extra helmet that Denver brought. She held Lex's Jacket for support and said, "Let's go."

Lex nodded and started the bike.

Denver stood and watched Lex riding away. He shook his head and thought, 'All the best broh!'

Since Lex had already entered once and the security guards had seen him, he was easily able to get out of the Flaming Lion Colony.

He rode on the empty road at a moderate speed since this wasn't a highway, and getting into an accident was a high chance.

'I need to talk to him.' Elle thought as she remembered her grandfather's request.

Thinking of something, she asked, "How are you actually related to the Ramsey Family? Since our families are close, I have met them several times and know them well enough."

"Hmm, my connection with the Ramsey Family, huh? Well, it's actually a long story," Lex replied.

"Then make it short and tell me, we have time till we reach the office," Elle said.

"You turned into quite a talkative, huh," Lex said.

"I've always been like this when it comes to satisfying my curiosity," Elle said.

"Well, if it's to satisfy your curiosity, Then I can tell you some things. After all, you'll easily be able to find information about me through your networks." Lex said.

'It's not so easy to get your information as you make it out to be.' Elle thought but didn't say it aloud. She simply waited for Lex's explanation.

"So it happened when I was about to be killed," Lex said.

"What a way to start a story." Elle sighed and said.

Lex smirked and continued, "My parents actually abandoned me and my younger sister when I was 10 years old. They were apparently some important people and left some powerful enemies behind for us."

"So, while surviving those enemies and keeping my little sister safe, a time came when I was almost killed by them. That time, Grandpa Max came and saved me."

Lex then shook his head and said, "After that, he took us in. Although I was against it, my younger sister has taken a liking to that old man. She was young, and that wretched old man used his pampering to bring her on his side."

Lex cursed and said, "That old guy is cunning as hell, he knew I would be against the idea of living with the Ramsey Family so he first brought Ely to his side. He knew if he did this, my fate would be bound to the Ramsey Family."

"You are a strange person, Lex," Elle said.

"Huh? Why?" Lex asked in confusion.

"You curse Grandpa Max, but I don't think you hate him. Then, why do you do that?" Elle asked.

"I'm guessing you have some book definition for it," Lex said.

Elle shook her head and said, "Although I've read many books on psychology and emotions, I don't trust them completely. Emotions are weird and strange, but they are also troublesome. That's why I don't really try to understand such a vague concept."

Lex nodded and said, "You're right about that. Don't try to understand emotions; that'll only lead to failure; just feel them."

"And how do you actually feel them?" Elle asked.

Lex shrugged his shoulders and said, "I don't know, I just feel them. Nobody can teach you that, you have to learn yourself."

Elle nodded, even though Lex couldn't see her while riding the bike. She said, "Many have said that I don't have emotions, that's why I don't know how to feel them."

"Meh, from what I have observed of you, they're wrong on that part," Lex said.

"Oh? Why do you say that? You have to know that the people I was talking about are top psychiatrists." Elle asked in curiosity.

Lex smiled and said, "How about I kill your grandfather today after comi— ouch!"

Although he pretended to cry out in pain, a smile was still present on Lex's face. He slowly removed Elle's hand, which was pinching him, and said, "Calm down!"

"I just said that to show you that you have emotions." Lex explained, "I have written emotionless characters in my novel, so I know how they are. You're clearly not one of them."

"You pinched me in anger because of what I said. So that's one emotion, then think about why did you felt anger?" Lex said. "Because you love your grandfather, you felt angry the moment I talked about killing him."

He tilted his head a little and said, "See? In just a few moments, I showed you have two emotions. The only problem I can think of with you is that you don't know how to express those emotions, you have them but don't know how to show them."

The more Elle heard, the more she understood how right Lex was. A small and faint smile appeared on her beautiful face as she thought about his words.

"So yeah, don't think much about it," Lex said. "As for your earlier question, it's simply because hate is too strong of a word. I don't hate anything or anyone, well, aside from The Obsidian Council."
