Chapter 73: Tough Stand

"You owe Harry big time, you know that?" Tonks said to Hermione.

"What?! Are you kidding me?!" Hermione demanded with disbelief and a large amount of anger. "I can't use my right arm anymore! I am a right handed girl who can't use her right hand!"

"And you are lucky that you did not lose that arm," Tonks responded, unfazed by the girl's anger. "there are some darker families with much worse defences on their grimoires. Also you do owe Harry, first of all he and his godfather let you into their home and you repaid them by breaking into Harry's room and reading his family grimoire, something that is personal, the equivalent of killing a puppy as far as the wizarding world is concerned and a death sentence worthy crime as far as the law is concerned."

"D...death sentence?!" Hermione paled.

"Purebloods would not hesitate to vote for you being given a dementors kiss or tossed through the veil of death if they weren't going to send you to Azkaban for life." Tonks replied. "Like Sirius said to us outside, a lot of purebloods are of the opinion that muggleborns are trying to steal magic and knowledge from wizard kind, do you realise the backlash that would occur if people found out? Any efforts to help muggleborns would have likely gone down the drain if people learnt that a muggleborn who was graciously invited into a pureblood home decided to read the family grimoire of the boy-who-lived?"

"You don't realise how personal family grimoires are," Sirius said. "they are important to us for a large amount of reasons and it is considered one of the most heinous crimes to attempt to read a family grimoire. I am sorry Miss Granger but I can no longer have you in my home, when you are out of here I will pay for a room in the leaky cauldron if you need but you cannot stay under my roof." Sirius said, earning gasps and surprised looks from everyone. Harry managed to hide his enough to fit it under a raised eyebrow.

"But...but you can't!" Hermione said, tears in her eyes.

"I am sorry but I have to." Sirius said in an apologetic manner. "Ever since I have let you come into my house you have done nothing but complain and try and order me around, that was bad enough but you have also been bothering Harry and then you tried to read his family grimoire. I can't trust you in my house, what if you steal something? What if you try and read one of my family books and they are much less forgiving than Harry's book? I cannot watch you 24/7 and I am not having someone die or get injured again in my house. If you need help finding somewhere to stay for the summer or if you need someone to pay for a place for you to stay then I will help you."

"But you can't do that!" Ron protested.

"Well...it is his house." Harry pointed out, "as far as I am concerned Granger should be bending on her knees and thanking us both." Ron growled at Harry and moved forward to attack him only to be held back by Arthur.

"Calm down son." Arthur said, they're right." Arthur said, shocking Ron out of his anger which in most of the room's opinion was a good thing as Harry would have utterly destroyed Ron the second he got his wand out. "The Weasley family don't have a grimoire but if we did and somebody tried to read it then I would be demanding their arrest. Hermione is quite lucky that Harry is not pressing charges and that Sirius is still willing to help her find a place to go."

"Arthur you can't be serious!" Molly Weasley said and it was only the seriousness of the situation that stopped Sirius or Harry from making a 'Sirius-Serious' joke.

"Molly, blood feuds have been started for less." Arthur pointed out calmly. "Hermione lost the use of her arm because she did not listen, she is staying out of Azkaban and staying alive because Harry is not pressing charges and she will have a roof over her head when she leaves this place because Sirius is willing to help her. If we had a family grimoire and someone tried to read it then I would spit on their face, kick them out to never come back and then press charges. Quite honestly we should be thanking Sirius and Harry, most people would be as calm and nice as these two are being." Arthur pointed out, his face suddenly turning hard as he gave each member of his family a look that said 'don't argue'.

"Emotions seem a bit thick here," Harry commented. "perhaps me and Sirius should leave." Harry suggested

"Probably best." Tonks agreed. "You two go and take Fleur with you, I will stay here in case an auror presence is needed and I'll come and see you guys later."

"Okay," Sirius sighed. "come on guys." He said before he walked out with Harry and Fleur following behind him.

"Goddamn it." Sirius said as he flopped into a seat when the trio arrived back at Grimmauld place.

"Come on Sirius," Harry said. "it's not like it's your fault."

"It's my house Harry, I..."

"Your house yes, but it was my room and my family book." Harry pointed out. "I mean the one time I forget to put any magical locking charms on there and she goes in and try's to read my family grimoire."

"No, you told her not to mess with it and she did so..."

"So let's agree that it's her fault," Harry cut him off. "now you relax, get Dobby to make you some tea or whatever. I am going to go take Fleur on the tour of the house." Harry said before he turned to Fleur and offered her a hand. "My lady." Harry said, Fleur took his hand and allowed him to guide her upstairs and into his room.

"So...this is your room?" Fleur asked once she was inside.

"Yeah." Harry nodded. "I only moved in this house this recently so haven't really hand a chance to decorate it or anything." Harry said as he closed and locked the door before putting some silencing and privacy charms on it. "I really am sorry that the first time I brought you here was ruined." Harry said as the two sat on his bed.

"It was not your fault Arry," Fleur said, waving off his apology. "you did not ask her to read your grimoire and from what I understand you had already told her not to." She said as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah, it's a powerful book." Harry replied. "If you're not a Potter and try to summon or levitate it or move it by magic then the built in portkey activates and it takes it straight to the Potter family vault, if you're not a Potter and read it then you...well you saw what happens." Harry said, all the while he could not help but thank his stars for the fact that he kept his other dark books in the Chamber of secrets, Gringotts and other places where Dobby fetched them for him instead of in his room.

"Quite interesting, thought today has been a hard day for you," Fleur said as she squeezed his shoulder slightly before her hand trailed down to his chest. "perhaps I can help brighten it up?" She said in a low voice.

"Oh," Harry said as his body shivered slightly. "how do you plan that?"

"Well," Fleur pushed him down so he was lying on the bed, she straddled him, taking her time as she did so. "like this." She whispered before their lips met in a passionate kiss.
