Chapter 3: chapter 2: moving out of state
Friday
So it was Friday and I had to call my boss saying that I was quitting. And he asked why I told him that I am moving out of the state. And he said, okay and fare wishes. He was really a kind person and has three kids. But he is a good friend of mine. And I had to tell a friend of mine that I was moving out of the state. But I told her and she didn't take it well. But I told her I can't stay in a small town I have big dreams. But I was going to keep in touch with her.
Then I had to go to my other boss and tell him that I was quitting. And I explained to him and he said, " okay but I want you to chose who should be a manager next." I said okay and I wanted Chelsea to do it. And he was alright with that. But I had to go to the airport tomorrow and well. I already had my stuff I guess shipped out. And all I had to do was grab my purse keys, guitar and my amp was already packed. But I had all my stuff ready to go and I still had to figure out what I was going to do. With my car at least. I was still going to keep it. I don't want to let it go.
But I had to get some sleep and I guess this apartment already had new furniture. And a bed but no frame. That was good but I was going to take the ghost with me. I won't leave her. But I headed to bed and I was out like a light.
Next day
So I woke up and it was still a little early. And my dad was going to take me to the airport. But I got dressed in my black and white skinny jeans, and I had gotten a pair of black combat boot heels. And I put my leather jacket on and a black tank top. But my hair was straight and I put a beanie on. Then all I had to do was grab the last of my stuff and ghost.
But my dad woke up and it was a little early but it was like nine and my plane was at twelve. But my grandma was up to. And I had to say goodbye to her. I was sad to leave but I wanted a new start. But she said, " I love you bug. Be careful and call when your plane lands. Okay?" I nodded and gave her a hug. " I promise I will. I love you, grandma. Please keep an eye on my dad when I am gone." She smiled and said, " I will. I love you and I will miss you." Buster and daisy came in looking sad. And this was so hard for me. They looked so cute.
But I gave them a hug to. " I love you Buster and daisy, but I have to go okay. I love you and I will miss you. Just be good okay." They nuzzled their heads next to me and buster started to whine. And then daisy did too. I wanted to cry. But I couldn't let them see me cry. I have cried too much in the past.
But I had to head to the airport. And it was in Valpo, so it was not that far. But I got to the car and put my stuff in the back and ghost she was in her crate and I put the crate on my lap. I gave the ghost a few treats and after awhile she zoned out and fell asleep.
The car ride to the airport was silent. But once we got there my dad walked in with me. And I gave him one last hug, " I love you, dad. But can you do me a favor." He looked to me and nodded yes, " keep an eye on grandma while I am gone please."
He nodded yes and his eyes were a little puffy, " it will be okay. I am just one call away. Just know that I love you." I gave him another hug and I felt something wet drip and he was crying. I told him, " you cry I cry. And I don't think I have any more tears. Just a dry valley." He laughed and my plane number was called, I said bye and headed over to the gate.
I asked if I could keep my cat by me. She nodded yes but to keep her in the cage just in case. I said thanks and went to my seat. I put in a pair of earbuds and fell asleep watching fault in our stars. I have trained myself not to cry watching girly movies.
California
So after I don't know how many hours I got to Cali. And I saw the view it was a beautiful, clear sky. And we landed it was a little rough. But it was okay, and it took five minutes to get out of the plane and twenty minutes to find my luggage. But I got a text from my dad saying that there is another present. And I thought okay. What is it?
After a while, I was standing outside and the ghost was meowing. I knew who she felt a long time on a plane and holding in the drainage. But I then saw this mustang pull up and the guy got out and said, " are you Haley ward?" I nodded yes. He then said, " here you go." He handed me the keys. And I was shocked. But I went over there and got in and put the ghost in the passenger seat, and the seat belt went over the cage. But I put my luggage in the back.
And well I put in the coordinates on the GPS and it seemed like it was nearby. But I had to travel to L.A. Which would be about twenty minutes. But once we got there it was a pretty big apartment complex. But I parked the car and went into the office and asked, " excuse me. I was wondering which floor this apartment would be on?" She looked and said, "the third floor, after you get off the elevator take a left the go all the way down and it will be the last one on the right. And here is your key." She handed me the key and I did have one more question, " sorry to bother you but would I have to make any payments?" She shook her head no and said, " it is already paid in full."
I was shocked, and said, " okay thank you." I walked over to the elevator and I heard ghost meow. " it is okay ghost we are almost home." She then mowed a little quieter and she is adorable. But I think that is her way of talking to me. But after I got to the third floor I walked to the left and all the way down the hallway. And I put her crate down and put they key in the door and opened it.
Once I walked in I saw it was kind of big but really nice. I shut the door with my foot. And walked down the small hallway and I saw the kitchen had a bar stool area. And an opening once you walk in. There was a closet near the door. And I saw that the furniture was still in wrapping. But I set ghosts crate down and let her out. I trained her to go to the bathroom, in the litter box. But I saw that there was already a box but no litter. So I will clean that in a moment.
But I needed a few things and well. I had to go to the store. So after I took off the plastic I grabbed my keys and my phone and went to the car and to the store. Now this I hope to god wont be bad. Then again it is probably Jammed packed. But surprisingly I got there in reasonable time. Only half an hour. But I found a target and got a few things. But the things I needed most were, cat litter, cat food, human food, kitchen utensils, and a small cat house. Because ghost likes to hide in small spaces.
But I got that for her and I got a few folders, a journal, and a newspaper. Since I needed a new job. Maybe there is a mall near by. But I paid for that and got back home. But I needed to still unpack and rearrange a few things. But I got home a little late. And I headed to my bedroom to see a teddy bear mattress. This bed is so soft.
But I undid the boxes and I found my blanket and bed sheets. So I put that on the bed and I got a new blanket a few months ago, and it was nightmare before Christmas. And I loved it. But I put that neat. And after a while I got that done I was super tired. So I got into my jack onesie and headed to bed. After a while I heard ghost because this cat purse so loud. You can hear her in another room. But I headed to bed.
