Chapter 47: No rest for the wicked

"Let's cut across the parking lot, it will save us some walking," said Miguel.

Charm had no qualms with that.

Anything that could get Charm to the privacy of her bedroom faster was fine with her. 

She ignored the sounds of their footsteps crunching on the gravel.

As they quickly made their way down the path. 

The last building they passed was the library.

It was a place that she hadn't gotten a chance to visit as yet. 

Even in the darkness, she could see that it was way fancier than the one from her hometown.

The building was at least three storeys with double vaulted ceilings.

It also had dark, heavyset doors made of expensive looking wood.

A normal security guard was posted at the corner.

They could hear voices on his walkie talkie as they walked past.

It seemed the security guard had already been made aware of their presence heading in his direction and wasn't surprised.
