His words were sweet, yet something inside her still held doubt. There was a hesitation in her heart that she couldn't shake, a nagging fear that this was all an illusion.
But Yuda's touch, his voice, and the way he said her name made the doubts melt away, if only for a moment.
"Let's get married after all of this," Yuda said suddenly, his eyes gleaming with determination.
Lithira's breath caught in her throat. "Really? You want to marry me?"
Tears welled in her eyes, the joy almost overwhelming her. She had dreamed of this, of being with Yuda forever.
But then, reality hit her like a cold wave. She was a dragon, an immortal being, and Yuda was human.
Even if they married, he would eventually die, leaving her alone for eternity. The thought of outliving him, of watching him wither and fade, broke her heart.
