Lucien hesitated, unsure about accepting the quest, fearing it might consume too much time.
However, seeing Auden's distress, he felt compelled to learn more and decided to speak with Gibson.
Excusing himself from Auden, Lucien approached Gibson, who seemed oblivious to his presence.
The weight of the large luggage burdened Gibson's shoulders, causing him to hunch over, his steps labored.
He didn't use his usual cane and his foot was trembling. Every step he took was so heavy it left a trail behind. Gibson was lucky since the sunlight was not as sharp as in summer.
"Gibson, do you need a hand?" Lucien gently tapped the old man's shoulder.
Startled, Gibson nearly lost his balance, saved only by Lucien's quick reflexes.
"Oh, Goddess! You scared me," Gibson gasped, catching his breath. "No need, My Lord. I'll be reaching the river soon, it is my destination."
