Chapter 120: Chapter 120

[Third Person's PoV]

One year and a few months later…

"You sure you want to eat this now? Before, it was because you didn't want to be that child of prophecy, but now…" Lucian asked as he looked down at Thalia, who was resting on his arm.

Thalia looked at the golden apple in her hand. "I made my choice a while ago. I'm going to be 16 in a few days, and I don't really see the downside of eating it. I mean, I'm really curious what would happen if I ate it."

"You would be turned into an immortal and forced to be taken to Olympus, as you wouldn't belong with us mortals anymore," Lucian teased.

Thalia froze as she stared at Lucian. "Thanks, you just took away my desire to eat it."

"You are most welcome," Lucian smirked with contentment.

"Were you being serious?" Thalia muttered, looking up at him.

"No," Lucian chuckled. "It just gives you immortality that stops you from aging. You can still be killed and stuff, but you wouldn't grow anymore."

"So I would forever be stuck as a girl that's as close to 16 as possible but would never get there?"

"Pretty much," Lucian nodded.

"And I won't be whisked away, right?"

"As far as I'm aware."

"Please sound confident in the answer…" Thalia sighed before getting up from Lucian's arms.

"You'll be fine," Lucian reassured with an eye roll.

Thalia held the golden apple with both hands and took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing," she muttered before taking the first bite. It wasn't long before she finished eating the entire fruit, not even leaving the stem behind.

"So?" Lucian questioned, expecting to see a big light show of golden colors.

"Apart from it being delicious, I just feel a bit healthier, and that's about it."

"Well, that was anticlimactic," Lucian said, sitting up from his bean bag chair.

"I know, right? I was expecting to start glowing while ascending towards the heavens," Thalia agreed. "So what now?"

"What now what?" Lucian retorted.

"I mean, what do we do now? Annabeth's visiting her dad, Luke's doing who knows what being all secretive with the friends he's making, Grover's away on a secret mission, and now it's just you and me."

"You could always start training your new abilities you just got, not to mention the other ones you have," Lucian suggested.

"I suppose you're right, but it gets boring, you know," Thalia whined as she plopped back on the red bean bag chair. "Is that what you are planning to do next?"

Lucian nodded. "Now that Annabeth and I finished and published the books, I'll start to really focus on training my abilities. It's something I've been meaning to get into. You are on your third Sequence already, Thunder Herald. You should focus on mastering your abilities before properly advancing.

Let's see if I remember correctly. From the Lancer potion, you received a boost in your physical attributes, like strength, endurance, etc. Even your battle instinct got stronger.

Apart from that, you received the abilities:

Mastery of polearms: Which enhances your skills when wielding any type of polearm weapon, like spears, halberds, and, as the name entails, lances.

Piercing Strike: You can perform attacks that penetrate most defenses, allowing you to deal significant damage to heavily armored opponents.

And lastly, Leap Attack: You can perform powerful jumping attacks, closing distances rapidly and striking with great force from above.

After you rapidly advanced through the Lancer potion, you drank the Thunder Herald potion, which upgraded your Piercing Strike and speed enhancement, while it also gave you the abilities:

Electrokinesis: You can generate and control electricity, allowing you to shoot lightning bolts, create electric fields, and manipulate electrical currents.

Lightning Reflexes: Your reflexes are enhanced to near-superhuman levels, allowing you to react almost instantaneously to threats and dodge attacks with ease.

Thunderous Roar: You can emit a powerful shockwave or sound wave, stunning and disorienting enemies in a wide area.

And lastly, Storm Step: This ability allows you to teleport short distances in a flash of lightning, making you incredibly agile and difficult to pin down."

"Lucian, I appreciate the recap, but I know my own abilities," Thalia said, looking at him with a straight face.

"What I'm trying to say is that you have many abilities. One of the things you have to worry about when you have so many abilities is mastering them all. So you should get busy."

Thalia exhaled sharply as she looked up before jumping off the bean bag chair. "I suppose you're right, but that'll have to wait till tomorrow since it's already getting dark."

Just as Thalia was about to exit, she spun around on her heel and walked towards Lucian. She gave him a quick kiss before nonchalantly walking away.

Lucian just looked at her back in amusement before deciding to call it a night as well and headed to his room.

It took a bit for Lucian to fall asleep, but when he did, he opened his eyes to see himself transported back to where he had once met the Fates.

Confused, he looked around until he froze, his eyes widened as he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

He walked towards the table where the Fates were having a tea party with an additional guest. He reached out his hand and began touching the face of their guest.

"Lucian, honey, what are you doing?"

"Making sure you are real…" Lucian muttered in disbelief.

"W-what," he stuttered, unable to get his words out. "What are you doing here… Mom…"

Medea reached over and started caressing Lucian's cheek with a bright smile. "Just look at how much you've grown."

"Y-Yeah," Lucian choked out. "It happens when you grow…"

Medea chuckled. "Nice to see you still have your sense of humor," she said as she stood up.

She held Lucian's face and examined him before kissing his forehead. To Lucian, her lips felt cold, not to mention she was ghastly white.

Lucian couldn't help but wrap his arms around Medea, tears unwillingly shed from his eyes as he held his head down.

Medea held him as tears started appearing in her eyes as well.

"So again, what are you doing here?" Lucian asked, still not looking up.

Medea was patting his head as she explained, "You see, these three old ladies appeared before Hades. I wasn't present during their talk, but it seems they came to an agreement with him that let me be out of the Underworld for a few days. During these days, we seem to have had an interesting conversation between ourselves. And. About. You," she said as she lifted his face and bopped his red nose.

Lucian turned to look at the three of them. Clotho gave a cheerful wave and smile, while Lachesis tried to stop her.

Atropos sighed as she stood up and grabbed her sisters. "We'll leave the two of you alone. We won't bother you unless you call for us," she said as she dragged them both away, disappearing.

As they disappeared, Medea turned back towards Lucian. She started running her hands through his hair. "Your hair… it sure is long…"

"Yeah, I haven't had the chance to cut it," Lucian muttered.

"Didn't have the chance? Or is there another reason?" Medea asked in amusement. "Is it not because your hair was one of the last things I touched before my death?"

Lucian blushed. "How did you know… I haven't told anyone about it… Not even my closest friends…"

"It's because I'm your mother, silly. I know things about you that you yourself don't even know, like how weirdly sentimental you can get with things like this," she teased as she continued running her hands through his hair.

"I know I said I loved your long hair, but this is getting ridiculous… I'm not even sure if you're my son or daughter."

"Did you just come here to make fun of me or something?"

"Hehehe, maybe." She said with a teasing grin before going back to caressing his cheek.

As she was caressing his cheek, her hand went further up to his ear before giving a sharp twist.

"Ow, ow, owie, what are you doing!?"

"What is this I hear about you having two girlfriends? Huh? I go and die for one second and the next thing I know, you are in a relationship with two girls. I thought I taught you better than that, Lucy!"

"I didn't choose the harem life; the harem life chose me! Now release me, woman!"

When Medea let go of him, Lucian caressed his ear while glaring at her. "They should have a demigod CPS, you abuser."

Medea scoffed. "I'll show you real abuse if you keep behaving like an idiot."

Medea then sighed. "Please tell me you aren't playing with their hearts, Lucy. I just can't have you turn out like that man, I just can't."

"You know how I just said the harem life chose me? I wasn't joking. They got together and came up with some sort of deal to date me or something. I wasn't really privy to the details, only that I'm going out with them now."

Medea facepalmed and sighed. "What is wrong with children of this generation…"

"I honestly blame you, Mother," Lucian sighed back.

"WHAT!? How is it my fault?"

"You made me too handsome and taught me how to take care of a woman all too well. I'm now irresistible. It has turned into a curse…"

There was a dramatic pause as they looked at each other before they both started laughing together.

"Oh, how I missed you, my little fos," Medea said with a loving smile.

"I missed you too, Mom… a lot," Lucian replied, his smile a little melancholy.
