Chapter 333: I’ll GIVE YOU MORE THAN MY SAREE

I'll GIVE YOU MORE THAN MY SAREE

Yet, it wasn't her exotic beauty that held their attention, but her lethal prowess.

As a hundred conjured lions thundered toward her, jaws agape and claws poised for the hunt, she raised her hands with effortless grace, uttering but a single phrase,

"I have a Spell."

In response, the wind stirred, escalating into a tempest that engulfed the arena in a frenzy.

Within moments, a cyclone of swirling air enveloped the beasts, hurtling them skyward. Before they could touch the ground, the wind sculpted razor-sharp blades, rending the lions into a myriad of fragments.

With a single spell and a flick of her wrist, the woman effortlessly dispatched the hundred adversaries set upon her.

-----

[Before the battle against a hundred lions]

"This is a waste of my time fighting with these lions three at a time. Send out all the lions you can conjure to me at once and complete this worthless trial", a woman said to the organizers of the conjurer pre-qualification test.

"Who does this woman think she is? All the lions we can conjure?" someone from the crowd cried out.

"A hundred lions are the most we can conjure in the arena. Are you certain you will have it this way. You may be injured by the conjured animals", a referee told the woman and asked her.

"A hundred is too few to test my spell but give it to me anyway, that is probably all you can afford", the woman told the referee to his shock and dismay.

"A hundred conjured lions? This woman will be torn into a thousand pieces", a spectator suggested.

"It serves her right for being arrogant", another added.

"It's a pity. She's too beautiful to die like this", a third guy lamented.

"Suit yourself, and what is your name?" the referee asked the woman.

"My name is Strega", the woman replied to him.

Suddenly, someone shouted over from the next arena.

This guy just walked into the arena to perform the test and overheard Strega's special request.

"I'll have what she is having", the guy told the referee.

-----

"Hey, what is wrong with these independent conjurers? They all want to die young before the Conjurer Inheritance competition", someone commented about those taking the pre-qualification tests.

"That guy just wants to impress the girl. A pity both of them will die because of their ignorance", someone added.

"And what is your name, young man?" the referee asked the guy.

"My name is Bully err… Yaw Bulee", he replied to him to his surprise and amusement.

------

"You wanted to have what I'm having arrogant boy?" Strega asked me loudly from the other arena.

"Yeah, why not. This is a waste of my time anyway. It's better to be done with it quick", I replied to the girl in the next arena.

The girl, Strega's unusual request, stopped all the tests in the surrounding arenas because all the conjurers in the other arenas must be brought to her arena to conjure a hundred magical lions to fight against her at the same instance.

This was a disruption to the test, but the organizers allowed it to accommodate the independent conjurer's arrogance.

They also wanted to teach the independent conjurers a lesson that arrogance comes with a price.

"It'll be done in a minute", Strega told me as she waited for the conjured lions.

When the lions were conjured, Strega uttered a single phrase, "I have a Spell".

Cyclones of wind formed blades struck out toward the ravaging conjured lions. Before the lions could advance, they were shredded into bits almost in an instant.

With a single spell, Strega defeated all one hundred conjured lions that were sent toward her by the conjurers. She passed her qualification probably with the highest score in the history of similar contests.

"Hey, Yaw Bulee, it's your turn. See if you can have what I'm having", Strega shouted to me.

Now, it was my turn to perform.

"No, problem do you want to make a side bet?", I replied to her and asked.

"What do you want?" she asked me.

"I want your half-torn dress. It'll make a good gift to the girls in Pleasure Court, if they'll wear it, hahaha", I replied to her and laughed.

"I'll give you more than my Saree if you can defeat all the conjurers' lions", the girl replied to me.

"It's a bet", I replied to her.

-----

In the arena, a hundred conjured lions materialized, their ferocity evident as they charged toward me, jaws agape and claws bared, poised to rend and devour me.

Yet, I refused to succumb to their predatory instincts.

Then, in a moment of Upheaval, the impossible occurred. Without warning, the lions were hurled into the air, confounding both spectators and judges alike.

Before comprehension could settle, glimmering streaks of silver danced amidst the airborne predators. With astonishing speed, these flashes became instruments of destruction, cleaving the lions into scattered pieces.

A hush fell over the audience, for none could discern the origin of these swift, blinding flashes that dispatched the conjured beasts with such ruthless efficiency.

Save for one person.

------

"How did he… kill all those lions so quickly. That speed is even quicker than mine. How can the templars of this region be this strong, teacher?" Strega asked as she viewed the battle from her floating pavilion.

"That magic surprised me too. I wondered how he manipulated his magic to this extent, almost equivalent to a Spell of a Cakra Mula Mage", Mage Narga replied to Strega before she added, "He is commanding two different paths of magic, the rare path of Chaos and the almost extinct path of Shadow. Perhaps with the magic of two paths combined his magic could match the efficiency of a Mage's spell", Narga told Strega.

"Mage Spell? Is he a Mage of Prolis, master? How can there be mages in this region? Or an Ayen rebel?" Strega asked her teacher.

Mage Narga thought about the matter for a while before she came to a conclusion.

"He is not a Mage," Narga said.
