Chapter 247: Chapter 244 - City of Calais (4)

"Don't be afraid, I'm a kind man, very kind." Noticing the change in Philip's expression, Rose commented in a gentle tone, although she could not see the maniacal smile on his lips. She was someone who could control herself perfectly, given her overwhelming power.

But that limiter disappeared as she fought, it was as if her brain was releasing a huge amount of endorphins, dopamine and serotonin into her bloodstream. Frankly, the feeling was exhilarating, to the point where she was increasingly looking forward to a fight where she could use her powers without any qualms.

Gently?

If it weren't for the mad smile on the girl's lips, Philip might actually believe it, after all, Rose's appearance showed nothing but beauty and elegance. Unfortunately, the smile on her face would make anyone uncomfortable, no matter how beautiful Rose was.

Drawing his sword, Philip wanted to end the fight quickly and retreated quickly, not that he was a coward, but they were only a few dozen kilometres from England and there was a monster he definitely didn't want to face.

Albus Dumbledore - the most powerful man in the world.

As the fight began, he had no doubt that the man would quickly arrive to support the extremely talented young woman in front of him.

Perhaps sensing his intention, Rose rolled up the sleeves of her white military uniform and spoke casually. "If you're thinking of running away, I have the bad news that you can't escape. I've sealed off all space within a few kilometres, which means Aparatar won't work."

The white-haired girl's words made Philip's expression change drastically. He looked around, but instead of seeing, he felt with his special wizard senses. As Rose had said, there was a large cage surrounding the entire city, like a great dome.

This shocked Philip; he hadn't noticed anything. Not even a hint of magical energy!

Which was shocking, considering how sensitive his senses were, even the slightest magical energy could be detected miles away, especially at such close range and with him inside the dome!

"If I defeat you, this dome will disappear." As a Special Grade wizard with decades of experience, Philip calmed down quickly as he drew his sword.

"That's the spirit I want to see in you." Rose commented with a smile, what would be the fun of fighting if Philip just ran away? She didn't want to play cat and mouse, she wanted to kill a lion with a bloody bazooka!

Arrogance. I can use that. Philip thought as he analysed his enemy, Rose's arrogance was no surprise to him, if he had that strength at fourteen, he would be even more arrogant than Rose herself.

In an instant, Philip moved and huge thorns emerged from the ground and moved through the air towards Rose. They were like giant pillars, darkening the sky.

Whoever was fighting at that moment stepped back as they saw the apocalyptic battle unfolding before them. Rose didn't move, allowing herself to be attacked as she analysed the enemy.

She knew all the Special Grade Wizards and Witches, at least the ones who were public figures, and Philip Bourbon was a public figure. And like any important figure in the wizarding world, his information was on the desks of every powerful wizard in the world.

She knew the House of Bourbon's innate technique, Planetary Manipulation.

The Inherited Technique was simple and easy to understand, one could manipulate the earth as one wished, it was a very annoying ability for others, after all there was earth wherever one stepped.

Unfortunately for Philip, this was not the case with Rose. Before his shocked eyes, all the thorns he had manipulated had stopped and were no longer able to advance towards the girl, as if they had stopped in time, or rather were unable to reach their target.

The Potter house! Philip quickly recalled the information about the Potter House and couldn't help but take a deep breath, this damned technique was always able to provide him with information. Attack from a distance? Boundless would stop his attacks. Attack at close range? His attacks would also be stopped by the infinite distance between them!

The only way to get through Limitless was to cross the infinite space between him and Rose, but that was easier said than done, and extremely difficult to do with actions.

In an instant, Philip realised that he couldn't beat Rose while she was using the Limitless. His only chance was to force her innate technique to cancel itself, and there was only one way to cancel someone else's innate technique.

Sheathing his sword again, Philip laced his fingers together and spoke in an instant.

"Domain Expansion - Primordial World Creation."

Rose, of course, saw what Philip was doing and didn't stop either. She still remembered Asterion's words about Domain Expansion.

"Before the physical body, we are mere mortals, incapable of withstanding such a large amount of magical energy. Therefore, even you would be shattered in the face of the brutality of a Domain Expansion."

"Domain Expansion - Unlimited Void."

In an instant, black barriers rose around both of them, they both imbibed their respective innate techniques, and the purest ripping of the fabric of reality took place.

A long black corridor formed around Rose, then purple rays tore through space at extreme speed as a gigantic inhuman eye rose into the sky.

Rose's Domain expansion was similar to Asterion's, but instead of driving the enemy mad with vast amounts of negative emotion, Rose drove people mad by pumping endless amounts of useless information into the enemy's brain.

Philip's Domain Extension unfolded behind him like a huge piece of stone floating in space, ancient and primordial. Yet it was elastic and extremely heavy, as if its own weight were sinking into the fabric of time and space.

BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!

As the two realms collided, an explosion dwarfing any atomic bomb appeared in the sky of the city of Calais.

All the wizards and witches present lifted their heads and stared in horror at the explosion, which would easily sweep away a gigantic city.

Alice looked at them and wondered if these were really powers that humans should have. She felt that sooner or later the world would be destroyed by human hands. It wasn't an exaggerated worry, because mankind really was killing its own planet, and not just today.

But things weren't going as well as Alice had hoped.

Crack!

Philip watched in horror and fear as his Domain Expansion shattered in front of him, fragments ripping through him as the enemy's Domain Expansion enveloped his body in an instant. Never in his life had Philip expected to be defeated in a Domain Expansion match by a child barely fifteen years old!

It was completely insane that a fourteen-year-old girl could have a more refined Domain Expansion than he, a man of almost eighty. Still, reality hit him in the stomach, letting him know that he had lost the confrontation.

He was dead, of that he had no doubt.

As his own Domain Expansion passed him by, Philip remembered his life and how much he wished he could have kissed his daughter on the forehead and said goodbye with more emotion.

Rose watched the Special Grade Wizard's crazed gaze with extreme irritation. She wanted to fight, she wanted to fight hand-to-hand, but because of this man she couldn't and she felt extremely dissatisfied.

She hadn't wanted to use her Domain Expansion because she knew how good she was at controlling and refining magical energy; even Asterion was no match for her in that respect. If it hadn't been for a two-thousand-year-old aberration like Herpo the Dirty, he might well have been one of the strongest beings on the planet!

Philip, his mind ravaged by an endless stream of information, had a mad look on his face and his body began to fall from the sky.

Everyone watched in utter shock as the body of the French Special Grade Wizard fell to the ground with a thud.

The epic and incredible battle that everyone had been waiting for lasted only a moment before ending in an anti-climax for all the spectators.

Clovis de Valois gulped as he saw Philip's body on the ground, horror on his face as he watched the mad expression on the Special Grade Wizard's face.

Run! Run! Run! Run! Run!

Clovis didn't hesitate and fled, abandoning the city and his soldiers. What did it matter in the face of his own life? He couldn't die, he hadn't reached the special grade yet, he had a lot to do and he didn't want to die.

But his hope was extinguished in the next second when Rose Potter appeared before him.

- I can do anything. You want information? I can give it to you!" Clovis spoke quickly, his expression full of panic and terror. He didn't notice the increasingly cold look in Rose's eyes.

If there was one thing she hated, it was traitors.

"Die." Rose said in a cold voice as she grabbed Clovis' head and ripped it from his body in a brutal manner that would have made Escorpion from Mortal Kombat proud.

Chapter 248: Chapter 245 - The Grindelwald Plan (1)

Throwing Clovis' head and spine casually to the ground, Rose walked over to Philip. The man was alive, even though he had fallen from a height unimaginable to any human. Of course, the height didn't matter, what killed the person was an abrupt stop in acceleration, more specifically, the ground causing that abrupt stop in acceleration.

Philip had none of the composed, elegant appearance of before, saliva dripped from his mouth in large quantities while his eyes were fixed in one place. Rose looked at the first victim of her domain expansion and couldn't help but cluck her tongue in admiration.

Although she knew what would happen to the targets of the Domain Expansion, she found that she still underestimated the infinite amount of information that could be put into someone's mind in just a moment. From what she saw, Philip had no chance of recovery.

Philip's brain was dead the moment he received an infinite amount of useless information. The man would be insane for life if she didn't kill him now, which she was about to do. It was the only mercy she could show a Special Grade Wizard.

Grabbing his head by the hair, Rose easily separated his head from his body, spraying blood everywhere. If it hadn't been for Limitless, her white clothes would have been stained with blood from head to toe.

"I still want a hand-to-hand fight, it's no fun fighting with my innate technique." Rose muttered to herself as she casually tossed her head next to Clovis'.

Looking at the ruined city, Rose couldn't help but wonder why she hadn't attacked earlier. If she'd known it would be so easy, she would have started the invasion of the Frances a week earlier.

However, it wasn't that Calais' defense was weak, but that Rose was very powerful.

No wizard below Special Grade would have the courage to face those cannons on the city walls. Mosquito bites were painful but insignificant, but a hundred or a thousand was another story.

At the same time, four squads of elite mages was not something that a barrier covering an entire city could withstand, after all, the bigger the barrier, the more expensive it was to maintain, and even France, a rich and powerful country, could not build large and powerful barriers at the same time.

Although the borders were important, the city of Paris was the center of the country, and the most powerful barrier surrounded the city, making it very difficult to invade. Perhaps because the French cared so much about Paris, there was a saying that Paris was France, but France was not Paris.

This shows how important the city was in the hearts of the French.

Rose looked at the ruined city and spoke, her voice reaching every wizard and witch in the city at that moment. "The Special Grade Wizard was killed by me. According to orders from London, all French wizards and witches and enemies are to be killed without exception. Anyone who returns without taking a single life can expect to pass through the Corridor of Humiliation!"

Rose's words lifted the spirits of all the English wizards, their morale couldn't have been higher at this moment. A special grade wizard had fallen today, and they had witnessed the fall of one of the thirty-three special grade wizards in the world!

While the English were in an extremely high spirits, the same couldn't be said for the French troops in Calais City, all of whom were completely silent, still unable to believe that the country's only Special Grade Wizard had fallen before them.

When Rose's voice sounded, they finally recovered from the shock of Philip's death and quickly fled without hesitation. Now that Calais had fallen in an even more brutal manner than Edward III, who achieved the surrender of the city and started the Hundred Years' War, the French troops scattered like birds and were hunted down as such.

"Now that Calais has fallen, both fronts must advance on Paris, surrounding the city on both sides. But the French coalition would not allow this. Organization R must start moving now that we're winning with a big advantage." Looking at the ruined city, Rose muttered to herself, her eyes growing brighter and brighter.

It wasn't hard to know that things were going to get even more chaotic, especially on Europe's eastern border, where Russia was facing the enemy countries with all its might.

"We have to speed things up, the British treasury can't sustain a long war, we have to end this war in less than a year." Rose spoke, but there was less confidence in her tone.

Although Rose was confident that they would win in the end, she herself knew that a year was too short a time, they could defeat France in a year, but the other countries were another matter.

Unfortunately, the longer this war lasted, the more damage it would do to England and the countries connected to it.

Especially in terms of deaths, no country wanted its wizards to die too often, what would happen after the war? Who would fight against the cursed spirits? Who would fight to maintain the most basic order and give the land some time to recover and to nurture the soil so that new talents would have time to grow?

Rose discovered that the war was much more complex than she'd imagined; it wasn't just two armies fighting, but the aftermath as well.

She took a deep breath, forced herself to calm down, and waited in silence as she calmly and coolly watched her troops hunt down the French birds. At the same time, she observed possible talents she could use While Rose struggled with the chaos of her own thoughts and the consequences of her actions, out in the North Sea, a white yacht made its way through the turbulent and stormy waves.

Surprisingly, at the bow of the yacht, an old man in a simple dark suit seemed completely still, even as the yacht rocked from side to side. The man's silver eyes resembled two pale silver moons. He looked like a kind and warm old man, of course, if you didn't know his true identity.

Gellert Grindelwald, a Dark Lord and one of the reasons for the Third Wizarding World War.

"My master, the Sephirot are responding to something." Vinda Rosier, matriarch of the House of Rosier in France, approached Grindelwald and responded in an extremely respectful tone.

The Sephirot were physical manifestations of the Ley Lines, small crystallized crystals of the purest Ley Line magic. It was not yet known how many years it took for a Ley Line to create a Sephirot, but it was estimated to be hundreds of thousands of years.

Grindelwald's lips curved into a smile as he listened to the words of his loyal subordinate. "We've finally found it."

"Aurelius." He spoke in a soft tone, and not even the deafening thunder could drown out his voice.

Aurelius, who always followed his master, remained silent, waiting for the Dark Lord's words.

"Send the invitations to our future guests, we'll let them witness our pure world." Grindelwald spoke, gazing at the waves of more than nine meters that, though terrifying, didn't even stir any emotion in his heart. As if they were something trivial and unworthy of his second glance.

"Yes, my master." Aurelius bowed and walked away, leaving Vinda and Grindelwald alone. At the same time, an infinite thrill bubbled up in his chest. His destiny was about to be realized, how could he not be happy? Decades of hard work would finally pay off.

A pure world.

Turning to Vinda, the first Acolyte he had recruited, Grindelwald asked in a kind and warm tone. "I sense your concern, what ails you, my dear Acolyte?"

"I'm afraid I'll fail and the Master will die." Vinda didn't hesitate to speak her own thoughts, her green eyes staring at the man with a veiled worry on her face.

"I will not fail, Vinda." Grindelwald gave his companion a confident smile and continued. "Even if I do fail, someone else will take my place, and you will have a new master. One more ambitious and madder than I."

Yes, in Grindelwald's eyes, Asterion's plans were pure madness, even more so than what he was about to do!

The idea of creating a god was too insane, it was the ultimate blasphemy!

But that was why Grindelwald wanted Asterion to succeed him if anything went wrong with his plan; only someone so determined was capable of taking his organization forward.

Suddenly, Grindelwald's eyes looked north and his lips parted in a most terrifying smile, a mad, obsessive look shining in his eyes.

In his eyes, he could see an enormous barrier covering a large area, large enough to be called a continent.

Grindelwald murmured, smelling the scent of flowers in the air of this dark and stormy sea.

"The Promised Island of Avalon."
