Looking around, Alice saw four squads lined up side by side, a tense atmosphere in the air. They had received orders from England's Third Special Grade Wizard - Rose Potter.
Her orders were clear: attack Calais and retreat.
No one questioned the reason for these orders, the soldiers didn't need to think, just do as they were told. Alice wanted to ask why, but remained silent in the face of her comrades' silence.
Then she appeared before her, Rose Potter herself.
She wore a white military suit that matched her hair, and Alice held her breath for a moment as she watched her. Even though she didn't like women, she felt incredible when she saw Rose's appearance. Those incredibly blue eyes seemed to have beautiful sparkles in them.
She was like a fairy. Alice, knowing that Morgan Le Fay was known for her beauty, perhaps assumed that Rose had the same level of beauty.
"On the Spanish border with France, our troops were attacked by five Special Grade beings, three of them from France itself, two of them hired as mercenaries."
Rose looked at the four elite troops and spoke calmly, her eyes glancing at each of them before continuing.
"Fortunately, Lord Black was able to successfully kill two, subdue two, and one escaped."
Rose's words caused everyone present to open their eyes in complete shock. What she had said was no joke, every one of the witches and wizards present knew how strong a special grade wizard was, they were beings that could easily change the geographical landscape.
Now, six of these special grade beings, including Asterion Black, were fighting on the border between Spain and France, how could they not be shocked?
"The mission is simple, I want to know if there are any Special Grade mercenaries in the city of Calais." Rose spoke calmly, her normally smiling face showing a serious and slightly cold expression. Despite her age, she managed to convey a sense of calm to everyone.
Alice immediately raised her arm, but remained silent, waiting for permission to speak.
"Permission to speak granted." Rose looked at the black-haired, blue-eyed girl with a hint of interest.
"What if there are special grade wizards or witches in Calais?" Feeling the eyes on her, Alice suppressed the nervousness in her heart and asked with a bit of courage as she looked at one of the few truly powerful women in the wizarding world.
"If there is, then you can send any signals to the sky and I'll know. I won't let any of those beings hurt them." Rose replied in a determined tone, exuding a confidence that made everyone's eyes feel safe, despite the cruelty of the war that surrounded them.
"You have orders to leave." Rose said and all six troops pounded their chests with their closed fists and shouted at the same time.
"Yes, ma'am!"
…
Looking at the wall of giant cannons not far from her, Alice swallowed; who would have thought that a cannon could have such power as theirs? It scared her, it was almost as if wizards and witches were no longer needed to fight wars.
She assumed that modern warfare would be like that.
But would it still be called war if there were no humans fighting in it?
Alice looked at her captain, it was Gregory Greenriver, a veteran Grade 1 wizard from a minor noble house, from the aristocracy faction in the Clock Tower. He was an old man, about sixty years old. His hair was completely gray, and a huge scar covered half of his face. It looked like a flame had disfigured his face.
Although he was old, none of the people present questioned his strength or intelligence, he was the wizard who currently commanded all four elite troops.
"I will not repeat what General Potter has ordered. We're going to make as much noise as possible and then retreat by making waves of attacks in different parts of the city, if you feel something is wrong don't hesitate to retreat, your lives are more important to England".
Gregory, seeing the young but talented faces, spoke with a penetrating huskiness, he didn't want these young people to take too many risks on a reconnaissance mission.
Some of these young people might become Grade 1 wizards, and if they were lucky, a Semi-Special Grade wizard. The chance was small, but it wasn't non-existent, and he had learned that the most effective teaching ground was war, even if war was a cruel and indifferent teacher.
Alice and the others nodded; although Gregory was old, they respected him sincerely. They had personally seen the man fight in the recent battle between Dover and Calais, both sides throwing spells at each other, an attempt to see the levels of the people defending the place.
Seeing everyone's expressions calm and serious, Gregory nodded in satisfaction. "Let's get started." He said, looking at the ramparts that protected the French city.
Everyone stood and drew their wands. The first step in invading the city of Calais was to punch a hole in the barrier protecting the city, not only that, but they had to be fast enough to break through and quickly hide in the city before they were located by the magical detection barrier.
All four teams pointed their wands at a specific point on the barrier, and at the same time, twenty wizards and witches struck the barrier with bolts of energy that resembled lightning flashing across the sky. Phosphorescent plasma dripped onto the ground, partially melting the rocks.
Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!
More and more cracks appeared in the spherical space, making the transparent barrier vaguely visible.
Such a large amount of magical energy in one place could indeed make a hole in the barrier, but it would take a few seconds to accomplish this feat, which was dangerous because the moment this amount of magical energy was released, all the wizards and witches within a radius of at least ten kilometers could sense it.
Crack!
With a sound that calmed everyone's nerves, the transparent orb shattered, opening a hole just over two meters in diameter. Without hesitation, everyone rushed forward without waiting a second. At this point, everyone was racing against time.
Alice strengthened her body with magical energy and shot forward, her surroundings moving extremely fast as she advanced through the alleys and streets of Calais City. When she stopped, she found herself in front of a dark alley and cancelled her magic boost.
Crash!!!
The moment she stopped, Alice heard a crash that seemed to sound miles away from her. She knew that some of her companions had encountered enemies and were fighting at that very moment. Knowing that she couldn't wait any longer, she took a deep breath and used her innate technique.
"Innate Spell Manipulation - Crown of Blood - Blood Manipulation."
With her whisper, the strands of blood danced in her hands, becoming extremely deadly weapons.
With a flick of her hand, Alice controlled the strings of blood with her fingers and made a claw-like slash with her hand.
The lines of blood dancing in the air surgically cut through everything around her, turning houses, walls, and ramparts into nothing but rubble.
She remained indifferent to the screams they heard, or even the wailing of a child who had lost his parents to her attacks.
It wasn't just her who was acting, Gregory on top of a building moved just as quickly, his hands coming together to form a hand seal. Drops of clay began to float around him.
"Innate Spell Manipulation - Clay Manipulation - Clay Golems."
At his words, humanoid creatures made of featureless clay appeared around him.
Gregory didn't stop and changed the hand seals again, but this time, thousands of small clay birds appeared around his body. With a quick flick of his hand, he set them all in motion in an instant.
The golens and clay birds ran and flew everywhere extremely quickly, and when they came in contact with something, something surprising happened.
BOOM!
They exploded in powerful bursts, causing a shocking chaos in the city, which immediately erupted into anarchy with screams and cries. Although Muggles couldn't really see anything related to magic and cursed spirits, they could feel the effects that each one had on them.
This time was no different and Gregory showed no mercy to the Muggle inhabitants of the town, he had orders and he would carry them out no matter how cruel they might be.
Maybe Rose didn't know what her orders meant or what they would lead to, but eventually she would know that she was the mastermind behind thousands of random murders just to find out if there were any special grade wizards or witches in the city of Calais!

As soon as all the attacks began, a figure slowly rose into the sky, causing everyone to stop their attacks; it was a man, who appeared to be very young. So young that he looked like a teenager, he had long golden hair and was wearing a very nice dark blue suit.
The teenager's green eyes stared out at the city, which had been reduced to rubble within minutes of the attacks. He could hear the wailing of Muggles and the smell of burning in the air.
Clovis de Valois couldn't help but take a deep breath at the sight of such destruction; although he knew that wizards were highly destructive, he still underestimated the quantity and quality of wizards and witches that England had sent. Even if the city was rebuilt in the future, it could never recover in less than a hundred years.
At the same time, it made him completely angry, he could imagine that he would be mocked and treated with contempt by the Bourbon Prince in the French Parliament, and he, as a Semi-Special Grade Wizard, could only bow his head and angrily listen to the insults aimed at him.
"Innate Spell Manipulation - Seven Deadly Sins - Angel Fury."
With Clovis' words, a red halo appeared above his head and a pair of red wings of pure energy unfolded on his back.
But before he could attack, he saw a gigantic clay bird, tens of meters long, rapidly approaching his location. Though it looked extremely young, Clovis de Valois was around forty years old and not lacking in fighting experience.
As he stretched out his hand, the red energy of rage pushed up a huge energy shield.
As the red energy shield formed in front of him, the enemy's attack had arrived. Clovis saw a flash of white in his vision before a gigantic explosion rang out in the Calais sky. He felt his energy shield ripple violently, but he was a Semi-Special Grade Wizard, it wasn't that easy to break something he had conjured!
Gregory certainly knew this, he flew up in a giant clay bird and waved his arm, little clay turtles covered the sky for almost a kilometer!
Clovis de Valois, seeing this, changed his expression and quickly retreated, but he still saw countless white flashes in his vision, and soon thousands of explosions rang out in the sky above Calais City.
The successive shockwaves tore through everything in front of them, destroying almost every building that was still intact in the face of the full force of a Grade 1 wizard's attack.
Seeing the even greater destruction in the city, Clovis threw caution to the wind and became enraged. Red energy gathered around him, creating gigantic energy spears that seemed to be made of pure energy, undulating and deforming completely.
"Die, English barbarian!" With a single thought, Clovis manipulated the hundreds of spears and fired them at Gregory, who was flying on the clay bird.
They tore through the sky with great force and descended on the man flying the bird like meteors streaking across the sky, leaving a long trail in the sky.
"He doesn't seem to have much patience, but what can I expect from a pompous Frenchman?" Gregory muttered to himself, Clovis' attacks were truly dangerous and could kill him, but only if they could hit him!
Throwing hundreds of clay golems into the air, Gregory manipulated the clay bird and quickly gained altitude.
The hundreds of spears of pure energy arrived in the blink of an eye, piercing the clay golems, and when they did, hundreds of explosions occurred at the same time.
Seeing that his attack had no effect, Clovis gritted his teeth, he hated this kind of Innate Technique that could create or manipulate objects, their attacks simply disintegrated when they hit their target, they didn't care if it was an object or a living being.
This was a particularly obvious weakness of his Innate Technique, and techniques like the enemy's could perfectly contain his Innate Technique.
"You're really able to fight me, but let's see who can create more." Clovis spoke, manifesting endless spears of energy around him, the number starting in the thousands but quickly reaching tens of thousands of spears. Gregory could indeed supply him, but only if he could create enough clay puppets!
Realizing this, Gregory remained calm, but just as he was about to counterattack with his Domain Expansion, he felt a huge danger coming from behind him.
Using all his experience and reflexes trained between life and death, he forced his body to the side as he saw a sword slicing his clay bird in half, causing a huge explosion in the sky!
Clovis' face turned completely grim as he saw the figure in the air, had Asterion been present, he might have recognized the Bourbon Prince.
Philip de Bourbon looked at the completely destroyed city of Calais and couldn't help but feel a headache, he looked at his former rival and couldn't hide the contempt in his eyes. He had never thought that Clovis would be so incompetent as to be unable to successfully defend a city as small and important as Calais.
He had originally come to Calais after the escape at the Spanish border to pay a quick visit to see if anything was amiss, but he hadn't expected to find the city under attack!
When Philip appeared in the skies of Calais, he didn't hide his magical aura, pressing down on the entire city with the aura of a Special Grade being, suffocating and intense, leaving any being below Special Grade terrified at the amount of magical energy emanating from his body.
While the French wizards were happy, the English wizards, despite their fear of the being above them, flying in the sky like a god, showed no fear. With the arrival of the Special Grade Wizard, they knew that a Special Grade battle would begin at any moment.
When Gregory saw the Special Grade Wizard, he didn't panic and pointed his wand at the sky, releasing a trail of flames into the air. It had no offensive power, it only served to create a long streak of fire in the sky.
Philip looked at the English wizard flying the clay bird, and just as he was about to kill him, his face changed direction and he looked at Dover Town with a serious look on his face.
He didn't feel Dumbledore's aura, and it wasn't Asterion Black's aura either, which meant it was the aura of England's Third Special Grade wizard - Rose Potter.
He wasn't worried about the girl's arrival, what could a fourteen-year-old girl with no reputation do against him? As for the possibility of Rose Potter being as powerful as Asterion Black, it never entered his mind.
The reason was simple, he didn't think that England was lucky enough to have two monsters in the same generation as in the previous era.
No country could be so lucky, right?
Rose, looking at Calais, saw the trail of fire rising into the sky and her lips curved into an excited smile. She snapped her fingers and stretched. She was finally going to fight again!
Flying through the air, Rose strengthened her body with magical energy and shot towards Calais with a speed that was simply impossible for any modern aircraft.
As for the magic cannons, she wasn't worried at all - would you mind if an ant looked at you?
Even if they fired, they had at most the strength of a Grade 2 wizard, what could a Grade 2 do in the face of her Limitless?
So, Rose headed towards Calais, ignoring the magic cannons and arriving at the barrier protecting the city, the white-haired girl simply stepped on it and the barrier shattered like glass.
She descended from the sky with a big smile on her face, and when she looked at the whole ruined city, her smile hardened. With her Six Eyes, she could see the death and weeping all over the city. There was no difference between woman or man, child or elderly, everyone was dead without discrimination.
This made her shoulders feel extremely heavy, technically speaking, the one who had killed everyone was none other than herself. This confused her for a while, had she really ordered so many deaths? In her eyes, her soldiers had a basic sense of decency and humanity.
But looking at the state of the city, there was definitely no humanity in their actions, not even mercy for the weak and mortal like the Muggles without magic.
Taking a deep breath, Rose decided to put this matter aside for the time being and focused all her attention on the Special Grade wizard flying through the air. He looked at her with a condescending look full of superiority.
From the look on his face, she knew that it was the same Special Grade Wizard who had fled during the battle with her lovely fiancé. This made her mood slightly irritated, Philip's look was extremely insulting to her.
What did Philip's actions mean to her? Pure contempt and total disregard for her, as if she were a little wizard who had just started her studies in the wizarding world.
"I'm going to relax now and you're going to be my punching bag for a while, feel honored, French worm." Rose spoke, releasing a huge magical aura that completely covered Philip's magical aura!
The French prince felt like cursing God for being so insolent in choosing his chosen ones.
How in God's name could England have two such young freaks?
