Chapter 109: The Literary Genius's Mother

"Then you write a poem!" Avery Miller said as she ate, glancing at her. 

"Hmph, I'm not doing it. I'm not a literary genius; why should I?" she retorted, taking a bite of her food. 

"Am I a literary genius?" 

"No, you're not," she said, eyes dropping to her lower abdomen, "but you are very likely to be the mother of a literary genius!" 

This comment warmed Avery Miller's heart. She freed a hand to touch her slightly swelling belly, smiling with a maternal glow. 

Her eyes brimmed with expectation, joy, peace, and hope...

Her gaze upon her stomach left Jessica Wilson, Sarah Wilson, and Ella Jackson utterly astounded. 

A poem suddenly came to Sarah Wilson's mind: "The loving mother stitches clothes for her departing son, fearing his return might be delayed. Not even the heart of a tiny blade of grass can repay the warm sunlight of spring."
