Chapter 8: Dungeons
After cutting the wolf's paw off ,I proceeded to go for the kill. It slowly turned to face me as I walked closer.
It struggled to stay standing considering how it had all four legs not more than a few seconds ago.
I got close and it tried to bite me ,but it failed and fell to the ground. I proceeded to finish it off by piercing the head.
[You worked up a sweat ,gained 0.3% template progress.]
Putting the magic gems in my inventory for later ,I noticed the world around me was fading away.
Once it reached me ,I started fading away from the legs up. I opened my eyes to see the area where the portal used to be.
In its place was a treasure chest. I opened it and saw a necklace with an abnormally large wolf fang on it.

After wearing the necklace ,a screen appeared in my face. It gave me information about the necklace.
As I finished reading ,a new screen appeared.

As the screen faded away ,I noticed some kind of empty message box in the upper corner of my vision.
Focusing on it caused the box to expand and cover my view. It looked like a chat room or something.
'Jax:Hello? Anyone there?'
'Alejandro: Interesting.'
'Lu Yi: Anyone got any information about what this Apocalypse Order is about?'
'Jax: No clue. Could be anything. What's the situation like elsewhere? Do you guys also have field monsters and dungeons?'
'Su Ran: Yeah ,we have slimes and dungeons.'
'Lu Yi: Same here.'
'Alejandro: Hn.'
'Jax: Guess we just need to get strong enough to fight back ,it seems like nothing too strong has popped up yet. I cleared a dungeon earlier.'
'Jax: I'm gonna go through a few more dungeons before I start training for today. The rest of you should focus on meeting up. It's gonna be hard for you to fight alone.'
Advising my teammates ,I closed the chat interface and continued walking around. After travelling through the city I only found one more dungeon.
E-Rank Dungeon ,Slime Pit. I don't know why slimes are ranked higher than wolves ,but I guess I'll find out.
Entering the dungeon ,I found myself in a hallway. The area behind me was blocked with a wall now and the hallway could barely fit four people.
Continuing forward ,I stepped on something that looked like the same floor but felt like air. It was almost as if nothing was there as my foot continued through the ground.
I lost my balance and fell into the illusionary floor and as I was falling ,I noticed a blue jiggly floor below.
Activating my wings ,I flew back up. On the otherside of the pit ,I was steadying my breath.
That was close ,I almost fell face first into a slime pit.
