Lucas let out a deep sigh as he sank back into the comfortable sofa, finally feeling a sense of peace wash over him. He closed his eyes. But when he opened them again, he saw Kyra was picking up a broom.
"Hey, what are you up to?" he asked softly.
Kyra turned to him. "The house has been shut up for days. It would be a good idea if we gave it a thorough cleaning." she said, then proceeded to open the windows, letting in the fresh outdoor air.
Lucas pouted a little, hoping they could just relax and head straight to bed. But he knew better than to argue with Kyra since she was right. He nodded in agreement and joined her in tidying up the living room.
After they had finished cleaning, Kyra gathered up the bedsheets and pillowcases from Lucas's room. They didn't have a washing machine, so she had to wash them by hand, she thought, heading over to the sink.
