Chapter 38: Ch 38: I want to earn a title

'He's such an odd person. I don't know what he is planning and why he decided to help me when he knows that I could not even pay him money.'

Kerin looked at Soma from behind with a confused face. 

Soma was clearing out the plants in their path with his sword. 

A hand closed around Kerin's arm, and Soma pulled him out of harm's way.

A sharp claw broke the tree Kerin was standing in front of, and Soma attacked the claw with his strings.

Icy Jewel had no lustre inside since the core had been removed. 

That made the sword in Soma's hand very fragile, and even the smallest force would break it apart.

That was the only reason Soma used his strings to care for the monsters around them.

-Grrrrr

The monster glared at Soma for daring to stop the beast and protect the human it was trying to kill.

"Ahhh-"

Kerin yelled in fright as soon as he noticed the monster trying to end his life.
