Chapter 4: Amos

In the distance, the horizon was faintly turning white as the dawn's radiance bathed the earth.

On the vast training ground, the snow on the ground had already been cleared away. Hundreds of students, wearing standard leather armor, stood in groups of three or four.

"How are you? Feeling better?"

Sauron had just arrived at the training ground and encountered Ron, who wore a genuinely concerned expression.

"I'm okay."

Sauron's face was slightly pale, and he seemed unwilling to speak much.

In reality, since he had taken the medicine given by Teacher Martha, his physical condition had already recovered. However, considering the situation he was in, Sauron decided to pretend to be in a weakened state.

It was better to let the secret mastermind think that he still had residual poison and was on the verge of dying. Only then would he be safer, buying time to improve his strength as much as possible for the upcoming Spring Hunt Trial.

"If you're not feeling well, just go back and rest."

Seeing Sauron's pale complexion, Ron sighed and persuaded, "If your condition is bad, training won't make much sense."

"I'm fine."

Sauron shook his head and said softly, "There's still over half a month until the Spring Hunt Trial. I plan to practice my archery."

"Alright." Seeing this, Ron didn't try to persuade him any further.

Later, Sauron went to a designated area, picked up a bow and arrows from a rack, aimed at a distant target, and began practicing his archery technique.

The Holy Splendor Academy was established by the royal family, but it didn't only admit nobles. As long as one had excellent innate talent, even commoners could join without any fees by signing some contracts with the academy.

Moreover, the teaching style at Holy Splendor Academy was relatively free. Except for some mandatory courses, students could mostly cultivate on their own. If they had any questions, they could seek help from mentors.

Swish, swish, swish!

On the training ground, Sauron repeatedly bent the bow and shot arrows. Several arrows hit the target accurately, with one even striking the bullseye.

"Hoo!"

After a round of archery, Sauron's chest rose and fell slightly, and as his thoughts moved, a familiar light screen appeared before him.

Looking at the light screen, Sauron's eyes flickered slightly.

In just a moment of practice, the progress of his archery technique had increased by three points. If he continued like this, he might be able to level up soon.

For the current Sauron, archery technique was his forte. As for the Night Raven Breathing Technique, it was the inheritance of the Sauron family and the foundation of his cultivation, determining whether he could advance to the Knight realm in the future.

In simple terms, the Breathing Technique was a cultivation technique, while the archery technique was a skill. If Sauron didn't cultivate the Breathing Technique, he couldn't become a Knight. Therefore, even if he mastered archery to the extreme, it wouldn't be very meaningful.

"Night Raven Breathing Technique!"

Standing still, Sauron's eyes flickered. According to the descriptions in his memory, the cultivation process of any Breathing Technique often required the assistance of magical potions, and the Night Raven Breathing Technique was no exception.

As the son of the Lord of Night Raven City, Sauron originally lacked nothing in terms of resources. Night Raven City would pay all his expenses at the Holy Splendor Academy every year.

However, with the sudden disappearance of the Lord of Night Raven City, Sauron had not received resources from Night Raven City for a long time. As a result, the progress of his Breathing Technique cultivation had naturally stagnated.

"It seems that I need to find some magical potions!"

A thoughtful expression appeared on Sauron's face. The strength of the data panel lay in the fact that he could continuously cultivate to improve passive progress.

The Night Raven Breathing Technique was no exception.

However, due to the nature of the Breathing Technique, in addition to cultivation, Sauron also needed magical potions; otherwise, the advancement of the Breathing Technique would also consume a large amount of his life force.

"Oh, isn't this Young Master Sauron?"

Just as Sauron was contemplating, a voice suddenly came from nearby. Several young men dressed as commoners walked over.

"Amos?"

Sauron slightly frowned, looking at the group. The leading young man was tall, with a long sword hanging from his waist, and his expression seemed unfriendly.

The person's name was Amos, a commoner student at the Holy Splendor Academy. Due to the difference in social status, commoners and nobles were always in two separate camps, even at Holy Splendor Academy.

When Sauron had just joined the academy, he and Amos had a conflict, but it was just a small matter. Almost half a year had passed since then, so Amos's current attitude was somewhat intriguing.

"Doesn't it seem like the last matter is settled yet?" Amos said with a sneer.

"What do you mean?"

Sauron's face was slightly cold. Six months ago, the two had a confrontation, but neither side emerged as the clear winner.

Swish!

Amos drew his long sword, pointed it at Sauron, and said coldly, "The previous match ended in a tie. How about another round?"

"How about it? Are you scared?"

As Amos spoke, a hint of provocation flashed in his eyes. The two commoner apprentices beside him also began to taunt, full of mockery in their words.

"If you're afraid, I won't force you."

Amos showed a sneering expression and said faintly, "After all, trash like you can only rely on family protection. If it weren't for your good father, you wouldn't even have the qualifications to enter the Holy Splendor Academy."

"But now, your father is dead."

"If I were you, I'd leave the Holy Splendor Academy as soon as possible, so as not to embarrass yourself here and make the entire academy lose face!"

Hearing Amos's provocative words, Sauron's heart remained calm. As someone who had lived two lives, he wouldn't easily let others manipulate his emotions. However, he was puzzled as to why Amos was causing trouble for him now.

"This Amos doesn't seem

 right!"

Sauron's eyes flashed with light. He immediately inferred that Amos, who had come to find trouble, was probably acting under someone else's orders.

If Sauron couldn't withstand the provocation and accepted Amos's challenge, the other party might very well go all out in the fight and directly kill him.
