Chapter 92: The Anniversary

When we returned to the ballroom I kept my head down. 

I had to play a part, I needed to make people believe that no kind words were spoken between me and Eldrich. 

As instructed, he would keep a sneer on his lips as he glared at me, a sign that he wasn't happy with the news that Jason and I were never married. 

When I finally sat back down, Alexi glanced in my direction but didn't say a word.

He knew that if anything bad had happened my bodyguard would have stepped in Eldrich would not have been able to return to the ballroom.

"How was your talk with Mr. Young?" it was Jade who asked from across the table. 

"It went well," I answered. 

"Good," Alexander commented before turning his attention back to his wine.

"I think the show is about to begin," Sam said as he clasped his hands in front of his chest and turned our attention to the stage.
