Chapter 2: His Limits

The office was the same as the outside world for Jonathan, if not worse. He was always the butt of the joke, despite being older than all of them, they didn't show him the slightest of respects.

He worked for a data capturing company. This wasn't where he saw himself back then, he had big dreams but what can a man do when they don't have the looks.

"Hey Swindler, be a pal and get us a coffee will you?"

This was the routine. He'd be hassled around for one thing or another. Others would get in on the action as well, their ring leader was Scott Silver — he was a young adult, tall and handsome. Everyone followed him around and did as he did.

It was like school all over again.

It was a world that catered to the good looking, it wasn't fair, not in the slightest. Jonathan thought this would get better in the workplace compared to school but it was just the same.

"Yes!" He jumped from his seat involuntarily, thinking back to when this all started and he refused. He faced hell.

"Can you believe how pathetic that guy is? He always jumps at whatever we ask." Hailee commented, disgusted at how undignified this senior was.

They didn't bother to whisper, they were very vocal about these things and it made Scott feel like a god amongst men. He wanted to absolutely push the limits of the man.

"What can I say? I'm charismatic, I'm sure it won't be long before I take a leading position in this company. Red should watch out." He smirked the image crossing his mind.

"Absolutely!" Kyle exclaimed excitedly, he was someone who couldn't wait to get to the office, just to experience bossing someone around.

They all agreed, apart from his conceited personality he was a very likable guy. They've never seen a lady turn down his advances either, it was almost like magic.

Even Hailee had a little crush on him, though she'd die before admitting it.

Jonathan brought them the coffee, he knew he didn't just have to make it for Scott but also his office friends — though it wasn't much since there were only three of them excluding their boss.

This office was newly opened, it was a branch of many others around the country. So because it was new, there weren't a lot of employed people, they were still looking.

Jonathan actually worked on another successful branch before being transfered with his boss to this one. The higher ups hoped the two could make this one as much of a success.

"Swindler, I'll need you to type this out for me." Scott demanded once again.

"But I'll be behind again..." He mumbled.

"I'm sorry, speak up, I didn't catch that." He lied.

Jonathan could feel something swell up from within him. He wasn't sure either what it was, but he was feeling something towards these guys — towards the world.

They were poking the bear, playing with anger that's been brewing since he was born.

It wasn't the first time they'd shoved their work onto him while they lazed around the office doing nothing but chatting and playing online games. He knew their boss knew this too but did nothing to save him from this hell.

She also had the nerve to be mad at him at the end of every night when he was still finishing up a workload that was everyone else's.

He snatched the papers from Scott's hands and started up. But Scott saw this as a sign of rebellion, he didn't like that the fat pig in front him was gaining a bit of an ego.

Scott backed down anyway, he sat and chatted with his mates while Jonathan did his work for him. It was a neverending nightmare for him, but something felt a little different today.

He had an urge, an urge to kill. To kill them all and be done with it, he felt like his suffering would end when they no longer breathed the same air he did.

He tried ignoring the urge, but much like bile climbing up the throat, it was too late for him to keep it down. He thought about doing it, but chuckled at himself because who was he kidding? He had zero guts to do that.

He angrily clicked the keyboard, he didn't care if it was loud or that it was complaining. He had to take it out on something.

Hailee moved closer to his desk. She bent over pretending to look at the computer, her big chest was exposed, that would've tempted anyone.

She smells so nice. His head turned involuntarily.

"Pervert!" She hit him on the head. And took his lunch. "You'll pay with this." She turned on her heels and sat down at her desk.

He didn't even try to stop her — every other day she made up excuses to take his lunch. It was always a good thing to pack up an extra.

He watched as she opened his lunchbox, taking out chunks of sausages. The rest of them went closer to eat.

"Where does a guy like him get so much meat anyway? Are we paid that much?" Kyle asked taking a bite.

"Who cares?" Scott asked turning his back laughing, he tossed a bit of sausage to Jonathan which landed on his head then settled on the floor.

"Haha my bad." He turned his head again with a very scary face this time. "Eat it!" He wanted to show him that, he was nothing but his slave. He had no right to question him. This was payback for earlier.

"But it's on the floor!" Jonathan complained his face contorting to a disgusted expression.

"It's your lunch and you're a pig, what difference does it make."

This was accompanied by laughter from his friends. Scott walked over and forced him down, pushing his head to the sausage on the floor.

His tongue left its cave, touching the sausage on the floor, picked it up and it rested comfortably inside.

Jonathan got up after he was let go, his body was going through fits of spasms. As he looked at the people before him, fed up with their attitudes. He picked up scissors from his desk.

I swear I'll kill each and everyone of them.
