Chapter 32: Throne
Zamright was startled thinking why the Throne Relic talked but then he realized it wasn't the one. It was a small device attached to the Throne he was sitting on.
Looking at it, Zamright felt a deep longing, it reminded him of his brother, Brighton, the one and only King in his immediate family.
The man has contacted Zamright during his years of being a king. Brighton has teased Zamright and said that their family has become a direct line of Royalty now. In fact, the best Royalty the nation ever have.
Now that Zamright was thinking about him remembered well that because he has less emotional connection with this brother of his and because he doesn't care about the ruling procedure of the nation, he never put too much valuable emotions into him.
He can remember some of the letters King Brighton sent him. He indicated time and time again that his power over the Transparent Lantern was absolute to the point he was terrified of it.
With a thought, he can do almost everything, and the nation has the most powerful defense one can ever hope for.
After years of ruling, the letters began to change from ecstasy of power over everything to the chaotic discovery of the nation's secrets.
King Brighton never showed fear about its secrets because he has absolute power to go against any opposition but like everyone, the discovery was just mind blowing.
Zamright combed through some of the things his brother sent to him and he grabbed some pieces of information that might be useful to him.
Some of which was the true history of their race from the dark ages long before the establishment of any kingdom.
Another thing was about histories during the era of the great darkness that their ancestors survived for countless years.
But one thing that shocked Brighton and even requested Zamright to check some knowledge from the Castle Library was the Forbidden Rim.
A swat of vast land that can give perpetually the most powerful warrior terrifying feelings.
The place can gradually corroded everything that stayed there for longer periods of time. If that person was a human they will have an uncontrollable sensation till they leave the place.
Zamright shook his head, this isn't the important thing he needed to recall.
'Did I just become a King or what?'
This made his mood sour as he looked at thick bubble surrounding him. His brother was loved as a King for many years and established a foundation which lasted to this day.
The device that spoke to Zamright just now was one such thing. He tried to replicate the mysterious Throne Relic and he created this thing that will record history and also aid in guiding those that sat on the throne.
Zamright knew for sure Brighton passed the mantle of kingship to another house, he forbade any of his household and direct relatives from becoming the future kings.
He did tell Zamright about the decision and the reason was the power was too great and it brings dangerous from multiple factions.
It also attracts hidden power from all over the world. Worse than all of that, the secrets of the nation should be left undisturbed.
By just having that much power hidden things will unravel to the ruler. If they do not have enough strength mentally they may succumb to either depravity or madness.
Throne Relic gave power to the people that were closely related to Zamright. Brighton absolute authority was never replicated after him, but if one of his brothers or sons have taken control they may have the same authority.
Zamright sighed, what this information told him was that, in the last seven thousand years no one has so much authority than he currently has.
From the moment he came into the Nation space, Throne Relic has been observing him, protecting him somewhat. Now that it had got a hold on him, no one out there will have a sliver of control over it and also it will be dormant until he, the true owner of Relic did.
Zamright leaned back on the large couch that resembled a big Throne bed.
"Master. Was this the plan all along?" Zamright asked no one. "The castle was destroyed and I met Floating City that ferried me back to mains land."
"Now a Relic that was used to exchange me was here giving me power and authority over an entire nation in different time"
The more Zamright thought about it the more he see the connection. The Floating City organizations celebrate after he was delivered.
Through Sisi and other people he learned that Floating City has secret Floating Core Technology of an old era. The Core Holders has been ordered to travel back and forth from Charred Island carrying people and a day will come when they will have full ownership and control over the it.
That happened when Zamright and others were brought back to the main continent and the whole charred Island was further destroyed.
Family that hold Floating Core gained that benefit 4000 years ago, and it was in that period of time that Zamright obtained full member status with benefits.
He will have left the castle but knowing he has no one waiting for him, he stayed and continued to take care of the Flower.
Zamright sighed deeply as he really doesn't like this arrangement at all. He wanted to walked the land, hidden from many eyes and try to find the meaning of life.
Zamright tapped the Throne Artifacts called Brighton Guidance. Well, his brother named it after his name.
From it he gathered as much knowledge about the past as he could. Well, he can see discrepancies in it as if someone has an alter alot of things but one thing was that there was deep inhuman treatment for the people that have lantern Bloodline in their body.
Throne Relic gave power to anyone that became a ruler of the nation but those with his bloodline will have more power. For that reason a revolution happened centuries ago and enslaved every Lantern bloodline.
Experiments were conducted and the power that made them have power over the throne was siphoned and a new King was established.
Ever since then, the lanterns were used as a battery to power and also to control the throne. This came with problems, one of which was that no single person could have full control without the support of six or seven others.
The King that Zamright met on the Throne had 30% control and six others of his trusted supporters had 5% each, which gave them 30% control.
However, the six figures can never overpowered the king and achieve 30% control, at most together they can get half of that which was 15%. But with the king they can have 60% absolute control.
It was this 60% that the rulers have for centuries that made Great Lanterns what it was now.
Unfortunately, Zamright came in and gained 40% residual control before he even touched the throne. After he touched it, he has 100% but they can still tap into it.
And now, Zamright is the throne.
