Chapter 103: Chapter 103: The Priest and the Novice Nun (Edited)

Upon reflection, York considered the situation with the novice nun not so troublesome. She was just a novice, and knocking her out with a karate chop seemed straightforward enough...

"Are you sure about this, York?" Archbishop Rovshan still seemed somewhat concerned.

"Sure," York smiled, thinking of Hili. This was his own affair; how could he be negligent? However, his response to the Archbishop was more polished.

"Archbishop Rovshan, you know my character. I always prepare thoroughly in advance, so I've made all the necessary preparations."

But Archbishop Rovshan, gazing at him earnestly, challenged him with a calm demeanor.

"It's precisely because I know your character that I'm a bit worried."

York's composed and confident expression stiffened for a moment, but fortunately, the Archbishop added a remark that eased the tension.

"However, Father York, I'm also relieved that you've taken this matter upon yourself,"

York's expression returned to calmness, looking towards the elderly man.

Sensing his gaze, Archbishop Rovshan continued.

"If someone else from headquarters had been sent, I might have felt uneasy, but now I'm much more at ease."

York's demeanor softened, "So, can you arrange it for me?"

"Of course," Archbishop Rovshan responded with a relaxed smile.

"Hmm." York thought of something else, pushing his luck further.

"Archbishop Rovshan, could you possibly have Novice Nun Eileen stay here?"

Archbishop Rovshan outright refused, "That won't do, Father York. His Holiness Gregory has already told me that this is God's arrangement."

Saying this, Archbishop Rovshan glanced at York, seemingly expecting this response.

"He also told me that if you refuse Sister Eileen's company, then the map marking the location of Saint Cata Monastery will end up in someone else's hands."

Hearing this, York's mind conjured the image of the old man's all-knowing expression, and his face involuntarily twitched.

Alright, the old man played hardball; without the map, he indeed wouldn't know where Saint Cata Monastery was located.

After all, no one could know the location of an unfamiliar place right off the bat, especially since the monastery was hidden deep in the wilderness, making it even harder to find.

If possible, he would've left without a second thought... but for the sake of a 40-point reward, he endured! "She's here."

Just then, Archbishop Rovshan spotted something ahead and spoke up.

York instinctively followed the Archbishop's gaze.

Two figures emerged from a side path: an older nun in a black habit and a young novice nun in white, cautiously making their way inside.

York squinted, bypassing the elder nun to focus on the young novice behind her.

From his perspective, the Novice Nun Eileen, who would accompany him to Saint Cata Monastery and potentially serve at Pluto Church, was rather attractive.

With a classic oval face and a sweet, cute appearance, she exuded a gentle and homely aura.

The first impression made York think that this novice nun might possess a kind heart.

"Go and see, York." As the two nuns walked into the building, Archbishop Rovshan made the sign of the cross.

"It's God's arrangement."

"Alright!"

At this point, York accepted the fact of the nun's company. After all, he couldn't refuse if he wanted the map of Saint Cata Monastery and to complete this significant task.

"Mother Superior." Eileen cautiously followed behind, harboring doubts about the assignment.

"I'm just a novice nun, not yet a true cleric."

"I know, Eileen," said the older nun, Tracy, leading the novice to their destination. Her expression changed slightly as she considered the situation.

"I'm also surprised by this, but I know it's your best opportunity. If you can learn from Father York, you'll gain much experience."

Hearing this, Eileen remembered the rumors about Father York.

His relentless battle against demons, countless exorcisms, and the execution of a heretical cardinal...

Although she had never met Father York and didn't know the truth, Eileen could sense a chilling ruthlessness from these possibly true stories.

"So, have you met Father York, Mother Superior?" Eileen's curiosity about the priest she would follow grew.

Tracy took a deep breath and shook her head, "Not yet."

Eileen wanted to ask more.

"But..."

However, Tracy stopped as they reached a hall, gazing at the central figure of Jesus and cutting Eileen off.

"We're here, Eileen."

Tracy turned to Eileen, speaking softly.

"Child, I know you're anxious, but please trust in the church's arrangement."

Eileen pursed her lips, looking at the Mother Superior who had led her for so long, feeling a sense of loss.

"Mother Superior..."

Tracy smiled, adjusting Eileen's nun's veil.

"Child, believe in yourself. You're the most outstanding child in the Montserrat Monastery. I believe you'll find your own path."

Eileen remained silent, took a deep breath, and nodded earnestly.

Tracy's smile remained as she fixed Eileen's attire and stepped back.

"Alright, I'm leaving."

Eileen watched silently as Tracy walked past her, then left the hall.

Now alone, Eileen looked around the candlelit, quiet hall, exhaling nervously, calming her racing heart.

But without the Mother Superior, Eileen felt increasingly anxious.

Just then, a gentle and steady voice sounded behind her.

"Novice Nun Eileen?"

Her heart leaped to her throat, and she turned stiffly.

A priest in a simple robe appeared before her eyes.

Eileen's pupils dilated.

Unlike other priests she had seen, this one was tall, well-built, and symmetrical.

He had neatly trimmed short hair, a strong facial structure radiating a resolute and masculine aura, and his deep eyes sparkled with determination and resolve.

"Father... Father York?"
