Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Mission Accomplished, Contract Summoning Beast

After Guy initiated his attack, Obito focused on Iraka. Seeing Iraka attempt to dodge, Obito immediately charged at him as well.

Iraka, however, had already resolved to take one of them down with him. Facing Obito's attack, he didn't dodge or evade but instead took the hit head-on. Enduring the pain, he swung his lightning-infused sword at Obito.

Obito didn't expect Iraka to withstand his punch and still counterattack. He had no time to react to the incredibly swift lightning sword.

Clang!

At that moment, a short blade appeared in front of Obito, blocking the incoming lightning sword.

Guy then swiftly kicked at Iraka again.

"Be careful, and don't let the enemy trade injury for injury," Kakashi warned, his eyes fixed on Iraka.

Unlike Obito and Guy, who lacked mission experience, Kakashi had encountered this situation before, where the enemy, seeing no way out, launched a desperate counterattack without fear of death.

"I got it. I won't fall for the same trick twice. Thanks," Obito's voice became extremely soft as he said the final "thanks."

Although these two words weren't difficult to say, the thought of saying them to Kakashi made Obito feel they were the hardest words in the world. However, Kakashi had indeed saved him from injury this time, so Obito still said it.

Whether it was because Kakashi was too focused on the battle or simply didn't hear, he didn't respond to Obito and concentrated solely on dealing with Iraka.

Iraka was strong, and his reckless attempts to trade injuries only increased his threat level. However, facing a three-pronged attack, Iraka gradually began to struggle.

Although he wanted to trade injuries, he couldn't afford to take Obito's Great Fireball head-on, and Kakashi and Guy wouldn't let him dodge too easily.

Gradually, Iraka sustained more and more injuries, while Kakashi and the others only experienced exhaustion of physical strength and Chakra.

"Konoha Great Whirlwind!"

Guy seized the opportunity to kick Iraka away.

"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"

Immediately, Kakashi unleashed his strongest and fastest long-range Lightning Release.

The massive lightning spear rushed toward Iraka, who had been kicked away, directly blasting a charred hole in his body.

"Phew, finally resolved," Kakashi sighed, feeling a bit relieved.

False Darkness, this advanced Lightning Release, emphasized high consumption for high power. Being hit by it would leave one half-dead if not dead.

"This enemy wasn't much of a challenge. We managed to resolve it without even needing Yumi-sensei's help."

Seeing Iraka directly killed by Kakashi's Lightning Release, Obito wore a relaxed smile. He was already thinking about how to tell Rin about "The mission experience of the talented ninja intern, Obito."

First, they discerned the difficulties of the client, then they located the enormous eagle Daikuro, swiftly dealt with the hostile ninja from the opposing village, and finally assisted Kakashi, who was struggling against the last enemy.

After some thought, Obito decided to revise the last part, stating that Kakashi's opponent was relatively strong, so they all worked together to resolve it, especially since Kakashi had helped him out earlier.

"Their strength is not bad; they're just a normal ninja team," Kakashi shook his head and said.

Obito and Guy rarely encountered formal ninja, but Kakashi had seen plenty, both from his own village and from opposing ones. He knew it wasn't that the opponents were weak, but rather that their team was genuinely strong.

From Kakashi's experience, if you took away the Jonin sensei, their team's overall strength could easily surpass Kakashi's former class.

Mutsuki, who had been observing the battle from the sidelines, silently nodded in agreement. Obito and Guy's strength had been steadily growing, and Kakashi was an experienced Chunin. Together, the three of them could potentially challenge Jonin of average strength.

"Everyone did well. The regular training sessions have paid off," Mutsuki stepped forward with a smile.

"Yumi-sensei," Obito greeted Mutsuki with a smile when he saw him.

Upon hearing Mutsuki's words, Kakashi's expression turned thoughtful, and he asked, "Yumi-sensei, were you nearby just now?"

Mutsuki didn't hide it and nodded in response, "I left worrying that if you encountered enemies, I would send a Shadow Clone to follow you. But it turns out, you didn't need my help; you resolved the enemies yourselves."

"Hehe, Yumi-sensei, how was my Fire Release?" Obito walked up to Mutsuki with a grin.

Mutsuki ruffled Obito's hair and chuckled, "You showed good opportunistic skills, not wasting Chakra on ineffective Ninjutsu."

In the past, Obito always relied on the Great Fireball, but he repeatedly failed in battles against Guy. Now, Obito finally regarded the Great Fireball as a means of forcing positioning and didn't expect to defeat enemies solely with it.

Satisfied with the feedback he desired, Obito wore a contented smile. Mutsuki didn't favor one disciple over another; he always treated his disciples equally. Continuing, Mutsuki praised Guy and Kakashi for their timely support and excellent coordination.

Mutsuki sealed the bodies of the three Chunin into scrolls. Dealing with three Chunin made this a B-Rank mission of moderate difficulty.

"These Hidden Cloud ninja were sent by the village mayor to deal with the giant eagle," Mutsuki informed his disciples of the intelligence he had gathered.

Upon hearing that the village mayor forced villagers to gather money to hire ninja to drive away the giant eagle for land seizure and forced marriage of residents' daughters, all three disciples showed shocked expressions.

Even Kakashi, who was usually calm, was very surprised. He couldn't understand why the village mayor would act this way. Since he was the mayor, shouldn't he want the village to prosper? Why would he resort to such coercion against the residents?

"How can there be such wicked people in the world?" Obito expressed his indignation.

"He's no longer worthy of being called human," Guy displayed immense disgust.

Seeing the reactions of his disciples, Mutsuki revealed a genuine smile. In this world, maintaining a relatively normal perspective was already quite challenging.

"Yumi-sensei, how about we use Transformation Jutsu to disguise ourselves and teach this village mayor a lesson?" Obito suggested.

Mutsuki shook his head and said, "There's no need for you to intervene. Someone who has committed such heinous deeds is destined to face punishment."

Beating him up would be too lenient; the idea proposed by the Hidden Cloud ninja earlier was quite good.

"Oh, by the way, Yumi-sensei, it turns out that the description of the mission about the giant eagle harassing the villagers was indeed false. Daikuro didn't bother the villagers; only the mayor's house, which actively sought trouble was harassed," Obito informed Mutsuki of the information he had collected.

Mutsuki nodded, then he and his disciples stayed on the mountain for a week.

Since that afternoon when Mutsuki roasted a pig, the black giant eagle couldn't forget the taste. In the evenings when Mutsuki and his companions dined, the eagle would catch some prey and leave it there, then eagerly watch Mutsuki.

At first, Mutsuki ignored the eagle, wanting to test its character. When it didn't receive any delicious food, the eagle thought there wasn't enough prey and caught some more, but Mutsuki still didn't give in.

Seeing the delicious food but unable to eat it, the eagle lowered its head and rubbed against Mutsuki with its head, then watched him eagerly. If it were a cat, this behavior would surely evoke sympathy, but it was a giant eagle with wingspan exceeding ten meters, making Mutsuki feel like a two-meter-tall muscle girl was acting cute.

Though the scene was a bit abstract, Mutsuki was satisfied with the eagle's character. He just wanted a means of transportation and didn't expect the eagle to be useful in combat.

Advanced ninjas' battles weren't something this non-verbal wild ninja beast could participate in.

Mutsuki then tested whether the black giant eagle could understand human speech, issuing some commands. He found that the eagle's intelligence was decent and it could understand basic commands.

Aside from daily bonding activities with the Summon Beast, Mutsuki spent most of the seven days training with his disciples, while his Shadow Clone collected information on the misdeeds of the village chief down the mountain.

Ninjas truly had overwhelming advantages over ordinary people; just a Transformation Jutsu could provide immense convenience.

On the eighth day, Mutsuki prepared to leave with his disciples, leaving behind a Shadow Clone to handle the remaining tasks. He tossed a roasted wild boar to the black giant eagle.

The eagle instantly rejoiced. Although it didn't understand why it got to eat without doing anything today, it was just happy to have food. The black giant eagle began eating quickly.

"Eat slowly and save some for the next meal. You might not get to eat like this in the future," Mutsuki said with a smile.

Hearing that it might not get to eat like this in the future, the black giant eagle paused its meal, looking somewhat panicked at Mutsuki. It didn't want that to happen.

The black giant eagle quickly pushed the remaining roasted pig to Mutsuki with its claws, indicating it could eat less. It thought Mutsuki disliked it for eating too much.

"It's not that I mind you eating a lot, it's just that I'm leaving here," Mutsuki explained.

The black giant eagle sighed in relief, glad that Mutsuki didn't mind its appetite. It cooed gently a few times and then rubbed its head against Mutsuki.

The black giant eagle wanted to follow Mutsuki. This place wasn't its home; it had fled here after being injured elsewhere. However, there were many beasts and residents who fed it here, so it stayed. Now, with the area becoming unsafe and remembering that there were people trying to capture it with lightning abilities, it figured it might as well stick with Mutsuki, especially since Mutsuki's food was delicious.

"If you want to come with me, just nod your head," Mutsuki said.

Upon hearing Mutsuki's words, the eagle nodded its head rapidly, just like a chick pecking at grains.

With the agreement of the giant eagle, the next steps were straightforward, and the signing was quickly completed.

"Since you're my Summon Beast, I need to give you a name," Mutsuki said, looking pensive.

"How about Battle Eagle? It sounds fierce," Obito eagerly chimed in, participating in the naming process.

The black giant eagle shook its head rapidly; it didn't like the name at all.

"What about Konoha's Savage Eagle? Konoha's fierce giant eagle!" Guy suggested with a big thumbs-up, laughing.

The black giant eagle pushed Guy with its wing, indicating it found that name even worse.

Kakashi felt somewhat speechless. What kind of messy names were these? After a moment of thought, he suggested, "How about Blackbird? It matches its color well."

Mutsuki felt that the names suggested by his disciples were quite abstract. Naming the black eagle Blackbird sounded okay.

"Let's call it Kuro then," Mutsuki suggested after some thought.

Although it didn't have any deep meaning, it sounded better than Daikuro or Blackbird.

Kuro rubbed against Mutsuki, showing some satisfaction with the name.

Then, Mutsuki explained to the client and his disciples that the mission was completed, and the black eagle would no longer appear in Kawakita Town, so they returned directly to Konoha.

The second Shadow Clone that Mutsuki left behind began to act. It spread the various evil deeds done by the mayor and disguised itself as a brave warrior who intervened when he saw injustice, ultimately resolving the issue with the mayor.

Actually, Mutsuki knew that this couldn't fundamentally solve the problem. Even if one corrupt man was gone, there would still be another corrupt man that might take his plae. But for now, he couldn't do much to address the systemic issues. To promote the kind of change required, his abilities fell short.

In this warped world, Mutsuki believed that similar scenes existed in many places. Although the technological level in the Naruto world was not low, it was still a feudal system. Mutsuki didn't go out of his way to seek out unseen problems, but if he could solve something right in front of him, he wouldn't hesitate.
