Chapter 52: Dark Beast Tide - Part 1

The Dark Mist had thickened, making it impossible to see into the distance. It looked like day had turned to night.

On the village wall, both guards and mercenaries stood with a pensive air, everyone gripping their weapons tightly.

The last Dark Beast wave happened a couple of days ago, and they had yet to recover from the attack.

And now, there was another wave. From the thick Dark Mist, they knew this Dark Beast tide would be deadlier than all the previous ones.

Perhaps, this would be the end of their village.

The tension in the air was palpable and could be cut with a knife. The bustling street was quiet with both children and women in hiding.

Caleb Li walked with large strides in the empty street toward the weapon store.

He rushed inside with his face full of urgency.

"What happened?" He muttered with confusion.

The store, previously full of various weapons, was now empty. It was as if they had been robbed.
