Chapter 1974: Chapter 1332: Interstellar Grand Stage (39)_1

In fact, not only was Xu Shang-Chi dumbfounded, Stark in mid-air was also stunned.

This was not his fight.

Yes, he was now standing in mid-air face to face with Strange in his battle suit, but in reality, he was looking at the experimental data on the screen in front of him.

The reason was, no matter which world's Stark it was, none of them could tolerate such excessive mockery. Just like Shiller said, the three keywords to provoke Stark are money, manliness, and that he is inferior to his father.

Strange's verbal attack not only hit the bullseye but also went deeper, involving Stark's daughter Helen. This enraged Stark, even though she was not actually his daughter, he couldn't accept the fantasy of his daughter being embarrassed.

So, Stark asked Jarvis to arm him and threw the first punch in the battle suit, then heard Jarvis' voice in his ear: "Sir, like always?"

Stark had martial arts training and was quite good at it. All he thought about at that time was how to fight. Jarvis's sudden question caught him off guard, afraid to expose himself, so he just grunted in response.

What happened next had nothing to do with him.

The suit moved on its own, very smoothly. Meanwhile, a bunch of experimental data appeared in front of his eyes, scrolling at a speed that was adapted to his browsing habits.

Stark was a bit panicked when he realized he couldn't control the battle suit.

Although Iron Man never told anyone about this, one of his top three fears is the battle suit going out of control.

To prevent this state-of-the-art weapon from going rogue, Stark would even deliberately sacrifice some performance to ensure safety and controllability. He would never allow his inventions to get out of his control.

This was immediately followed by a surge of anxiety. The idea of the battle suit moving on its own, or even controlling him, conjured up all kinds of terrifying scenarios. For instance, an AI crisis, being kidnapped by his own battle suit, or the battle suit exploding, killing him and those around him.

As extreme anxiety surged, Jarvis immediately started to sound the alarm. Out of necessity to maintain his cover, Stark barely managed to stabilize his emotions.

But this feeling didn't last long, as another kind of anxiety took over - the supreme magician across him was incredibly strong. If it was him controlling the battle suit, there was no way he could beat him.

In Stark's universe, a magician's fight is straightforward - pulling the enemy into the mirror space, summoning Seotrak's red robe, summoning an energy whip. Although the weapons are formed by magic, most of the battle is close combat.

Stark once asked Strange, why as per the mythology of any country, magicians should be remote professionals, then why does the Supreme Magician and magicians of Kamar-Taj always engage in close combat?

A bitter smile from Strange was the response. His answer boiled down to two significantly important points: Firstly, there was not enough energy, the energy emitted would be consumed, it's better to hold it in hand as a weapon, this would also consume less. Secondly, lack of variety in magic, if ancient magicians fought at close range, they only had the option to do so.

Actually, the latter could also be attributed to the former. Because there was not enough energy to innovate in magic type, the only option left was to experiment.

Although Kamar-Taj always emphasized simplicity and purity, the idea was formed because the magicians were always poor. Emphasizing simplicity and frugality was essential, any extravagance and waste could cost not just money but possibly their own organs, eyeballs, and even their own souls.

After understanding the brutal truth, Stark lost almost all interest in magic. Although technology was shackled by materials and cosmic rules but was given to humans by nature for experimentation and study.

Mother Earth is generous, Demon God is not.

But now, Stark could only describe the Supreme Magician in front of him with one word, and that is "fancy".

Strange was seen floating in the air, his short black hair dancing in the wind. He formed a circle with his hands up and down, stopping at his chest.

With a "whoosh", hundreds of giant energy arms extended behind him, each hand performing different gestures, flashing different colored lights representing the power of different civilization deity systems.

A hand swipe caused the power from Seto-Rak's crimson dimension, no longer a flying ribbon, but a torrential wave rushing mercilessly at Iron Man.

At that moment, Stark was panicked. Had he misjudged that Strange was his enemy? Why else would he attack him with so much force?

Before Stark could call out the Jarvis, he felt himself ascending at a top speed. In an instant, countless light spots were rotating around the iron armor.

For a moment, it felt like Stark was in a cosmic ocean.

In the split seconds when Stark couldn't react, all the light points opened up invisibly. Countless shield robots intersected in front of Stark, forming a shield.

With a blue light flashing, the red wave vanished, and it was Iron Man's turn to respond.

More and more twinkling points of light emerged, the mechanical army obscuring the clouds, forming a converging storm. Stark only felt a momentary darkness before his eyes. The next instant, he found himself transformed into a colossal mechanical giant.

As the giant fist struck, the golden shield suddenly shattered. The Supreme Magician was utterly unperturbed, as both of his hands waved, stirring the massive energy coming from different modes into a whirlpool.

With a powerful thrust, the mechanical giant was blasted backward. Strange seized the opportunity to attack, casually lifting his hand as the whirlpool flew out, shattering the mechanical giant composed of numerous robots.

However, the giant's form broke apart only for a split second as the robots drifted back on their initial course. Their damaged parts were replaced in the blink of an eye, and the mechanical giant once again towered majestically over New York.

Stark was without words to describe his astonishment at this battle. If he were to force a description, he might say that Thanos could come, but there was no need.

Standing on the rooftop, Gwen gazed down at the street below. The era of superheroes fighting in the sky while ordinary people fled in panic seemed to have irrevocably passed.

There's no denying that the balcony offered prime seats for the spectacle, closely followed by the street food stands at the side of the road. Next came the sunshade spots outside various shops on the street, and those who didn't get these spots were left out in the open, exposed to the sun.

Originally, most people had been happily looking up at the fireworks. However, a few rotten apples rushed into the crowd, wielding cameras and microphones, babbling at elderly people missing several teeth or toddlers who were just beginning to babble. They called this the "full coverage of the interviewing crowd".

Gwen, who had never been bitten by a spider and thus had no enhanced senses, couldn't make out what they were saying. But Peter was getting pretty fed up with these reporters. They were no longer carrying out leading interviews; they were completely just rehearsing fabricated nonsense, manipulating the interviewees' answers to mean something they assuredly didn't.

Just as Peter was about to leap down, a black tendril blocked his path. Taking a double take, Peter asked with some surprise, "Venom, what are you doing here?"

Upon hearing Peter's question, Xu Shang-Chi realized that this must be another Spider-Man. However, he couldn't understand why Venom was blocking everyone. Venom, however, flicked a tendril and exposed his fangs, speaking in a low voice, "Haven't you noticed that this script seems familiar?"

Everyone stared in silence, and then they noticed that the two airborne beasts, the more they fought, the closer they were getting to the Bronx. Both the flashing magic brilliance and the stray robots were all heading in their direction.

Standing at the back of the crowd, the Scarlet Witch Wanda opened her eyes wide and said to Venom, "So this isn't an original tactic of yours?"

Venom snorted, "Entrapment law enforcement is a traditional tactic."

As might be expected, seeing the light and parts getting closer and closer, most of the spectators lost interest and started running for their homes, including some reporters who started sprinting for their lives.

However, a group of people had a strange reaction.

The saying that "those who drown are usually swimmers" obscures a truth. Once a person thinks they have the ability to deal with a danger, their first reaction isn't to hide away, but to use their ability to ensure their safety.

Ordinary people know that they can't survive in the aftermath of superheroes fighting, so their first instinct is obviously to run - it's an instinct evolved over many years.

But going against instinct requires certainty. Regardless of the strength of their superpower, as long as there is one, there will be the desire to switch from passive to active, using their powers to ensure safety.

Watching the battlesuit flying lower and lower, Stark immediately yelled: "Jarvis, ascend! We can't harm the civilians!"

But before his words had finished, he saw a few flashes of light erupt on the street beneath the landing point, and between the flashes of light, the Ten Rings logo could faintly be seen.

A cold shiver ran down Stark's spine. How could there be so many members of the Ten Commandments?

Before coming here, he had fought a fierce battle with the Mandarin at the Hong Kong Temple. Stark had not fully recovered from the urgency of that fight. Seeing the familiar scene now, his instinct was to want to control the battlesuit to fight.

But faster than him were several figures jumping down from the building above, notably a black monster, a witch radiating red light, and a very familiar figure leading them.

"Peter?!" Stark blurted out in shock.

The battlesuit halted in mid-air, and Stark made no attempt to control it. His eyes followed the familiar figure in the red and blue suit. He felt as though this Peter was very similar to the Peter from his universe, both in stature and age.

But at this moment, Stark had a moment of hesitation. He began to hope that this wasn't the Peter he knew... It would be better if it weren't.

Stark thought, if so, he wouldn't have to rush up and ask if he wanted to return with him.

Stark knew that his universe was still deeply enmeshed in danger. As soon as Spider-Man who was aware of this found a way back, he would definitely rush to the battlefield without hesitation.

But in Stark's altruistic tree of world-saving thoughts, a new branch suddenly sprouted-

If Spider-Man couldn't find a way back, could he stay in this beautiful and rich world forever, showcasing his abilities at the interstellar stage and never experiencing such tragedies again?
