Chapter 1745: Chapter 1182: Teacher and Student (Part 2) _1

"Hey, Bruce, what are you doing here?" Victor lightly patted Bruce on the shoulder from behind. Bruce turned to look at him and said, "Oh, Professor Fries, I came to borrow some books. I need to find some case studies on psychology for my thesis."

Victor looked somewhat surprised, sizing up Bruce before saying, "Didn't Mrs. Pins notify you? You've switched back to the Physics Department."

Bruce squinted his eyes, and Victor continued with a helpless expression, "I was about to ask, what on earth did you do to upset Shiller? He applied directly to the education committee to have you removed from his list of students in the system. You didn't cheat, did you?"

Then, Victor touched his chin and said, "That shouldn't be the case. With your technical abilities, even if you cheated, he wouldn't be able to catch you. He doesn't understand all that mechanical stuff."

"However, being removed from the list is a serious matter, usually occurring when a student's actions severely harm the reputation of a teacher."

"I once removed a student, but that was because he was charged with rape, illegal confinement, abuse, and other twelve counts. What did you do?"

"I ..." Bruce opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, Victor patted his shoulder and said,

"If you have really upset him, I suggest you apologize to him. Not just for the sake of your relationship, but if you still want to pursue psychology in the future, being removed by Shiller is a very serious matter. This could ruin your reputation in the field."

Bruce stood still. He looked at Victor and asked, "Are you free now? I'd like to hear your opinion because you know Shiller well."

Victor nodded and said, "Let's go to my office. I really don't know what's going on with you…"

Bruce followed Victor to his office. The two sat down on the couch, and Bruce briefly explained to Victor what had happened between him and Shiller.

The more Victor heard, the wider his eyes became. Then he said, "So, you're the victim?"

Victor made a judgement, "Shiller suddenly came up with an inexplicable personality. He persecuted you with a series of absurd actions, and now he's removed you? Oh my God, he's gone too far!"

Bruce was stunned. He stared at Victor, and Victor stared back at him, then with some surprise, Victor said, "Did you come here to question yourself?"

"Pull yourself together, Bruce! Isn't this his fault?!"

Bruce tightened his lips, looking somewhat serious. Victor also grew increasingly serious, sitting upright, resting his elbows on his knees, and said to Bruce,

"Bruce, you don't have to be afraid, you can tell me the truth. Has Professor Rodriguez taken advantage of his power and done something to you? ... I'll get straight to the point. Has he mentally controlled or abused you?"

Bruce looked very serious at Victor, who continued, "Your current state is not right. Can't you think rationally?"

"After everything Shiller has done to you, you are now reflecting on your actions. Is it really your fault?"

"What did you do wrong? To protect Gotham, you went to the party to stop the serial killer? You stayed in Shiller's office to prevent a fight? Fended off those serial killers? Or was it simply having breakfast with Shiller?"

Victor sighed lightly and said, "The teacher-student relationship is a very special one. In the teaching process, it's inevitable that personal views are mixed in."

"In teaching science or engineering, this situation doesn't often occur. But in subjects like literature, philosophy, medicine, psychology, etc., there are often cases of teachers consciously or unconsciously inflicting psychological bullying on students."

"To get students to accept their views, they use their position and authority to continuously pressure students until they reach their limits and accept the teacher's view out of fear."

"For younger children, establishing authority is important. It ensures they learn to obey rules, rather than act recklessly."

"However, university is a place for equal dialogue. Every student, every teacher has the right to hold their views. If this right is infringed upon, you should seek help, not blame yourself."

Victor shook his head slightly and said, "In my years of teaching, I have seen many cases where teachers fail to grasp the scope of imparting knowledge and conveying views, turning education into indoctrination and brainwashing, causing great distress to students."

"Perhaps, they didn't intend to abuse the students, but the students couldn't resist due to the power imbalance and fear of authority, leading to various psychological problems, and even tragedies."

"So, I'm saying, if you have similar troubles, I can help you. I would also be helping Shiller."

"Because if he can't recognize this issue and adjust his teaching method in time, a tragedy will inevitably happen sooner or later, resulting in damage to both parties."
