Chapter 1659: Chapter 1124 Father and Son (44)_1

"Can you tell me how you summoned Alioth?" Loki asked, holding Mjölnir, he looked at Old Loki.

Old Loki shook his head and said, "Nothing special. I've said it before, it devours gods. As long as I remove the Illusion Magic that masks this place, it's naturally attracted by the scent of so many Lokis..."

Old Loki seemed somewhat defeated. He sighed before saying, "You want to take on Conqueror Kang, right? I advise you to save your energy. Even with Mjölnir, you can't beat him."

"Conqueror Kang, is that the name of the director of the Time Management Bureau?" Sylvie immediately stepped forward, squinting at Old Loki and asked, "Explain in detail, what exactly is going on?"

Old Loki seemed somewhat indifferent. He shook his head and said, "What else could it be? A madman with the ability to travel through time, his purpose is to rule the entire cosmos. The Time Management Bureau is just one of his armies."

Old Loki changed his position, leaning more relaxed on the couch. He then started, "In the past, when there was only one sacred timeline in the cosmos, there was only one Kang. But then, when the sacred timeline split and the Multiverse formed, Kang multiplied."

"But he wasn't split apart, each Kang was actually him in a new timeline he created while time travelling."

"Only each Kang would discover the secret of the timeline, possessing the ability to traverse it. Hence, in the Multiverse, there were so many time travelers."

"What ability does he have?" Loki asked: "Is his combat power strong? Roughly at what level?"

"Actually, he's not great at fighting." Old Loki shook his head, "At least, he can't compete with the Gods of Asgard, but his only advantage is that he controls time."

"Let's put it this way...you punch him, he can't dodge, but he can pause time to dodge or predict your punch countless times to find a way he can avoid it."

"The time you spend to punch him only happens once, but for him, he can experience it countless times. How are you going to fight that?"

"It sounds like you've had a tussle with him." Loki leaned forward, looking at Old Loki, "But you haven't been defeated by him."

"But I also didn't beat him." Old Loki shook his head, "And the reason he let me go, is because, killing me didn't have any value, just like what you said, I am just a deserter."

Having said that, his gaze fell on Sylvie, then he clicked his tongue and said, "But you're different, young lady. Conqueror Kang has his sights on the secret you hold. With him, it's a matter of survival."

"Do you know his weakness?" Sylvie asked.

"If I knew his weakness, would I still be here?" Old Loki shook his head, "Even if he has a weakness, as long as he can manipulate time and repeat countless times, his weakness would be eroded, loopholes would be filled, what's the use of finding a weakness?"

The words of Old Loki made Sylvie feel tense, and a deeper sense of despair after a thought. For a man who possesses infinite time, a weakness is no longer a weakness.

For example, if Conqueror Kang fears fire and Sylvie just happens to wield Flame magic, then at the moment her flames come into contact with Kang, he can rewind time, predict in advance that Sylvie will use fire, and by continuously rewinding, find a way to avoid the flames.

Alternatively, he could perform time travel on the spot to find something flame-resistant, then return to the point when magic is unleashed, using the flame-resistant tool to withstand the magic.

Moreover, Conqueror Kang is a being from the future and has a range of advanced tech. Even if he can't find suitable tools at the moment, he could just spend centuries developing one, then travel back in time to use the newly invented tools to negate his weakness.

"I think we should disband." Black Loki shook his head, "No disrespect to you, but even if we band together, how do we take on an opponent who can time travel anytime and anywhere?"

Loki pondered for a moment, his face become solemn. But he still tried to encourage Sylvie, saying, "Conqueror Kang won't return so quickly. Some anomalies have occurred in the Multiverse where we are, and he should be hindered at the entrance. As long as he can't find the entrance, he won't be able to…"

Just as he was saying that, the communicator in his hand rang. He answered it and heard Mobius's anxious voice from the other end.

"Damn! Loki! The Director is back!!!"

Loki got up swiftly, his face serious. He asked, "What happened? How did he come back?"

"I don't know, but the device that checks timelines reported his location. He is closing in on the Time Management Bureau at high speed. At most half an hour, no...he might come back the next second!"

Sylvie was about to leave when Loki stopped her and said, "Don't panic yet. If he hasn't shown up directly in the Time Management Bureau, it means he's been hindered. We still have a moment…"

Suddenly, Loki tilted his body, pointing to Sylvie's back and said, "Conqueror Kang, you're here?"

Sylvie turned around in terror. But the next moment, with a "thump," Mjölnir struck her head, knocking her unconscious.

Loki, still holding the hammer, turned to Old Loki, "Hide her. I know you can."

Before Old Loki could say anything, Loki pointed the hammer at his forehead, saying, "Don't make me club you."

Old Loki took a step back, extended his hands, and nodded. After Loki's figure disappeared, he shook his head helplessly and said, "Is this Loki? This is Thor!"

Soon, Loki, holding the hammer, appeared inside the Time Management Bureau. He handed Helen to Mobius, whom he had been carrying in his arms, and softly whispered a few words to her.

Then, Loki transformed into the image of the Goddess of Glory and said to Mobius.

"I have thought of a way to hold him off temporarily."

Mobius looked behind her and asked, "Where are the reinforcements? Where is Sylvie?"

"There are no reinforcements. Even if they were, they couldn't beat him. Listen, Mobius, the bureau chief has captured the female Loki in the Time Management Bureau, but didn't kill her directly. This means that to him, the female Loki has value."

"Since she has value, we can negotiate..." Loki's eyes were filled with a blazing light; speaking rapidly, she said to Mobius.

"The bureau chief knows that there's a secret on female Loki, but he doesn't know what it is. Sylvie is a female Loki, and so am I. I am confident that he can't distinguish between us."

"But he might interrogate you, instead of Sylvie..., " Mobius anxiously said as he followed her down the hallway. "Even if you aren't a child, you don't need to..."

"Don't worry, I am confident that he won't attack me initially. Sylvie may not be adept at negotiating with him, but I am." Loki's footsteps towards the end of the corridor were swift, she said, "I have a friend who is very good at this, I've learned a trick or two from him..."

"Where is the prison?", Loki suddenly stopped and asked Mobius, who pointed out instinctively towards a direction. Loki quickly followed his direction.

"During the time I'm holding him off, you shouldn't be doing nothing, you should be able to get a few small time-travel devices, right?"

"Indeed, but as soon as the device is activated, the bureau chief will notice, and you will be in danger." Mobius emphasised, "Without time abnormalities, you can't escape his gaze."

"It doesn't matter." Loki arrived at the door of the prison, opened the door and went in. Mobius, grasping the bars of the jail, locked the door behind her and said, "There should be a few unmonitored devices in Ravona's place, who do you want us to look for? We can try to keep it quiet."

"On the contrary, I don't need you to look for anyone. Instead, I need you to create as much commotion as possible." Loki said firmly.

Mobius stared at her in shock, expressing his disbelief. "You're insane! You can't possibly stand up to the bureau chief inside the Time Management Bureau; he'll do with you as he pleases. You can't hope to counter him through chaos!"

"I'm not planning on resisting, nor do I plan on countering him." Loki took a deep breath, stepped back a few steps, and raised her hands. "As you can see, I have no plans of fighting back."

Mobius stopped his movements, struck his arm, and said to Loki, "If you think that your sacrifice can save us, then you're truly naive. Give it up, Loki. He won't spare any of us. Your sacrifice is meaningless."

"Maybe to you and him." Loki shook her head and said, "but not to some people."

She moved back a few steps with a somewhat emotional look. Her eyes, in the darkness of the prison cell, shone brightly. She revealed an inexplicable smile and said,

You have arrived at a favorable time. If it were before, I wouldn't dare to do this, but now I believe that he cannot defeat me."

Mobius looked at the girl in the cage with a sorrowful gaze and then said, "Since I can remember, I have always worked for the Time Management Bureau, never knowing what it meant to be oneself. This is my destiny."

"Since there is no self, there is no fear of death." Mobius was gripping the bars of the cage tightly, saying, "All the people in the Time Management Bureau are the same, we're no different from those machines..."

"All the pain you bear to save us is unnecessary, we are just tools."

The expression on Mobius's face was extremely painful. Clearly, he had never explicitly voiced this idea, or alternatively, all those in the Time Management Bureau had been avoiding this fact.

"Someone without a past, a person whose future is only repetition, is really nothing more than a tool, we are not worthy of any emotional, real person to come to our aid."

Ravona's figure emerged at the end of the corridor, maintaining her stern tone, B15 followed her, stating, "Nobody in this world is unafraid of death. If our previous fear made you want to sacrifice yourself, then consider the horror of death."

Mobius shut his eyes, took a deep breath, and then dropped his head, saying, "At this moment, I wish you were one of the deceptive Lokis, or that you were just an illusion still here..."

Loki stood beneath the only small window in the centre of the prison, facing the three people outside and said,

"I swore by Asgard's Glory, that I would fight by your side to the death. Did you think it was a joke?"

"No, although I am known as the God of Mischief, I wouldn't joke about my country. Everyone in this world has something they want to uphold. Perhaps, you don't need to be saved, but Asgard's Glory can't be defiled."

"Hurry up and go, I can feel it... He's coming."
