Chapter 28

[I don't remember the timeline, so I probably changed it, like it or not.]
Arriving back, Andrea sees me, so gets off the RV and opens the gate for me.
"Welcome back." She says
"Thanks." I say simply. "Get everyone to th4 fire place, we need to have a meeting."
"Why? What's wrong?"
"Bandits. They're near us." I say before leaving her standing stunned.
After collecting herself, I saw from the corner of my eye that she hurried toward someone.
Me on the other hand, am going to my room, where Carley is playing with Maya. I didn't even know what they were playing, I just told them that there's a meeting. They understood, stopped playing and left the room with me.
Going to the fire place, I saw that everyone is already there. Carley sits down on one of the chairs with Maya in her lap. Looking at everyone's faces, I make sure that they are listening to me.
"Alright. I'm gonna give it to you straight...There are bandits near us, and...I think that, soon, they'll be coming to us."
I hear some gasps, and see surprised look on some. Lee, Kenny, and Larry just furrow their brows.
"So...I'll be honest here. Me, personally, I don't want to deal with them. There are a lot of them, so we won't be able to defend ourselves against them; and if we make a deal with them, of some kind, we won't have any supplies anymore. What I'm saying is, that we have to move."
I wait til they digest the information before saying, "I'm going to leave...if anyone's want to come with me, then raise your hands, if not, then...just sit still."
"You wanna move? Where?" Lee asks.
"I...thought about it, and...we should check out the place where Amy was before we picked her up."
"Shane's?" Amy asks.
"Yeah. It's possible they're still there."
"We're going with you." Carley says, with Maya nodding.
"You didn't have a choice to begin with." I said with a laugh, making her smile.
The others look at each other, then they all say that they trust me and will come with me. Hearing that made me smile, and nod in satisfaction.
After that meeting, we started to pack up. Me, Carley, and Maya are going in my BMW 3 Series; Lee, Clem, Kenny and his family are going together in the RV. Lily and her dad are going together in the Kaiser Jeep M715 we found last week. Amy, and Andrea are moving with a Suzuki Swift we got a month earlier.
As I close the trunk of my car, I hear Carley ask me, "Did you really find..bandits?"
"Why are you asking? Don't you trust me already?" I ask with a teasing tone.
"I do...it's just...it's been so peaceful here, now suddenly some trouble is gonna come here, you know?"
"Yeah, but I knew that it won't last long honestly. At first I though about taking care of them; wiping the bandits out, but most of us would die, which I dont want." I say, then lean down to her and kiss her.
"Okay." She says simply, then walks to the passenger side, and gets inside the car.
Then I look back to our room, and sigh as I thought about the memories that I managed to make there in 3 months. I see Maya leaving the room, and waves bye to it, thinking no one saw it, but I did, which caused me to chuckle.
I pat her head. "Come on. Get it, we gotta go."
She nods, and gets inside, behind the driver seat. I seat myself inside behind the wheel, ignite the engine, and wait til the RV pulls out; I follow, then the Jeep, then the Suzuki follows.
As we drive away from the safe haven we've called home for the past few months, I can't help but feel a sense of sadness and nostalgia. But I know that it's time to move on.
I glance in the rearview mirror and see the others following behind me, each with their own thoughts and feelings about the journey ahead.
Moving the review mirror a bit, I see Maya, and she looks a bit sad. "Are you okay, Honey?" She looks up a bit surprised, but nods her head. "Are you sure? You can talk to me." I ask her again, wanting to make sure.
"Yes..I just...I think I'll miss the motel." She says.
"Yeah, me too, I guess." I say with a shrug and sigh.
Carley doesn't say anything, just grabs my hand on the transition stick. I smile, and focus back on the road.
We drive for a few more miles before deciding to pull over, as the sun was coming down. We packed some food for ourselves, so we all stayed in the car, ate, and went to sleep, with 2 people staying awake for keeping an eye out.
In the morning, the ones that stayed awake, Lee and Andrea, went to sleep while we moved on.
Eventually, we arrived to our destination, work Amy telling Kenny, who was driving the RV, over the walkie talkie where they were camping; by they, I mean Shane and the others from that camp.
We when we arrive, Shane, Rick, Daryl, and Dale point their weapons at us.
When we get out of our vehicles, Me, Lee, Kenny, Larry, Lily, Carley, Andrea, and even Duck, point our weapons on them.
Seeing so many people with their guns pointed at them, they start cold sweating. Dale glances at Rick and Shane, waiting for what they say. Rick gulps, then lowers his revolver and puts in on the ground; followed by Dale, then Daryl, and lastly Shane who loudly clicks his tongue.
Then Amy gets out of the Suzuki; the women immediately recognizing her. "It's Amy!" Lori shouts in surprise.
"Lee, Kenny. Get the guns." I tell them, while still pointing my rifle at he group. Lee and Kenny nod their heads, and pick up the rifle, crossbow, revolver, and shotgun.
When the two of my friends come back, I smile, and put my rifle on my shoulder like Negan did with his baseball bat.
"How bout...we speak like gentleman?" I ask with a small smile.
