The day after Abby woke up, the sun streamed through the hospital window, casting a warm glow over the room. Abby blinked against the brightness, her eyes adjusting to the light as she took in her surroundings. Remo was sitting by her bedside, his presence a comforting anchor amidst the unfamiliarity of the hospital room.

"How are you feeling today?" Remo asked, his voice soft with concern as he reached out to brush a stray lock of hair away from Abby's face.

Abby offered him a weak smile, grateful for his unwavering support. "Better," she replied, her voice still hoarse from days of disuse. "A little sore, but better."

Remo nodded, his eyes filled with relief. "That's good to hear," he said, his hand finding hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. "The doctor said you're making good progress."
