Chapter 21: The Werewolf
Chen Ming felt veins popping on his forehead as he turned his gaze away, breaking away their nerve-wracking eye contact. This time, his pace of stripping had quickened.
He stripped out of those robes until he had nothing and quickly found some clothes lying on the side, looking extremely normal. A plain shirt and trousers of white and brown colors.
He successfully wore it all and turned around, raising his eyebrows. "What else, my lord? Do you expect me to do a strip dance too?"
"Do it." Gao Wen had a smirk on his face. "You wanted to bend me, didn't you? Why don't you give it a try? Until now, you did interest me, but your body is just so ordinary…. I can't even feel the slightest amount of fluctuation in my heart."
Chen Ming felt veins popping on his forehead all over again, but this time, he said nothing and pushed the man away, walking outside as he said without even turning back, "If you're hungry, follow me. Otherwise, I'm going to the dining room."
Gao Wen also shrugged and followed as he said, "You know the way?"
"I can ask."
"Well, I can tell you."
Chen Ming stopped and turned around slightly, asking, "Will you tell me?"
"Nope." The man had a mocking expression on his face. "Why should I help a puny human?"
Chen Ming gave out "I knew it" expression as he turned around and continued walking. As they continued onward, the shameless devil once again opened his mouth.
"Since you like cosplaying, why don't we make you a woman?"
"Huh?" Chen Ming was stunned after hearing those words. "What did you just say?"
"You're becoming a woman for me."
"Why should I?"
"Because you're living in my place, and you have to follow my orders." Gao Wen shrugged as he put his hands in his pockets and said, "You'd look pretty as a woman."
"Are you sure you're straight?" Chen Ming was confused as he looked back. "Straight men don't flirt with guys."
"Who told you that I'm straight? I can be a bi too."
"...."
It was useless talking to this guy. Every time Gao Wen opened his damned mouth, he would only trouble himself. It was better to practice silence in front of the man.
Chen Ming called out his system silently and asked, "Tell me romance value."
"The same." Chick showed the dashboard on his little tablet and shrugged before placing it on the ground. "Not even 1%."
"Oh..." Chen Ming's gaze turned colder as he walked faster than ever in that corridor. Since this devil lord only wanted to make a fool out of him, he would ignore him at all costs!
Of course, he could do something about it, but he was still not that much angered. In any case, the man hadn't really done anything so terrible to the point of forcing him to get out of his comfort zone and teach that guy a lesson.
In fact, he knew the man was a devil lord. So it would be better if he strayed away from the man's path and just finished his missions like a good and nice little host, but if his buttons were pushed beyond the limits…..
Even he didn't know what he would end up doing.
Once there was a senior in his school days who bullied him, but it was never extreme. The guy would corner him and would make him bring food every now and then. Of course, it was better that the bully paid for his own food, so Chen Ming was okay with doing such a menial service. After all, he only had to move a little muscle and nothing else.
But one day, the bully did something over the top, pushing Chen Ming's button so much so that he ended up bullying the bully master back. In the end, no one in the entire school touched Chen Ming. Rather, they were all afraid of him in the end.
No one dared to touch him by the end of his entire schooling, not even seniors.
Thus, he could teach any bully a lesson, but he didn't want to use his brain cells when he could just take it easy and rest all he wanted.
Thankfully, the devil lord seemed to have disappeared from behind him for some reason, letting him heave a sigh of relief. Just as he was walking forward, the butler came running from the other side. His face was pale as he rushed ahead and grabbed Chen Ming's shoulders, saying, "Young master, you should hide!"
Hide? Why?
"There's been an attack in the palace!" The butler looked anxious as he took a deep breath and said, "Young master, you'd better hide in your room for now. I'll bring some snacks until the mess sorts out."
Chen Ming was curious about the fight since he had never seen one, but thac didn't mean he would do this at the cost of his life. Thus, he shrugged and said, "I'll go back."
He turned around and walked back to his room, closing the door behind him. Of course, he wouldn't stop at just that knowing there was a fight going on.
Thus, he also opened the door and looked outside with a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
Before this, he didn't have a chance to look outside since he never opened the window ever since he arrived here. This, he was stunned when he glanced upon beautiful gardens being destroyed by werewolves. Some of them when they thrashed the beautiful rose vases on the side of the pathway that led to the main door were also destroyed one after another.
Colorful flowers scattered all over the ground, creating a destructive yet beautiful scenario.
Chen Ming leaned on the frame of the window, hiding behind the curtains as he watched the scene playing. He had seen such events in those movies, and he didn't think reality was so boring.
At least, they would show the young men actively destroying everything in slow motions at different angles. Of course, they would reduce the boring part where the werewolves screamed like crazed wolves who were bereft of their entire families.
Chen Ming frowned as he heard another roar. But just as he was watching, he saw the biggest werewolf, or a four legged animal, he had ever seen!
Chapter 22: Do You Not Understand?!
Chen Ming's eyes glanced at his smooth and shiny black fur, with patches of brown that matched the color of his eyes. The werewolf walked majestically as he growled in a low voice, pausing everyone's work. Those who were smashing vases, stopped and looked at the other walking past them slowly and steadily as they all bowed.
All of a sudden, the werewolf stopped sniffed as if he smelt something and suddenly looked towards the window where Chen Ming was leaning.
The latter flinched and directly fell to his butt. His face remained a little pale with such eye contact.
"Host~" Chick came running from his hiding and did a happy dance as he said, "Congratulations~"
"For what?" The system's presence seemed to have calmed him down as he took a deep breath and asked, "Wait, he's the second male lead?"
"Of course~!" The little ugly system chirped and did a happy dance, saying further, "And you wanna know even something better?! He smelled your presence!"
Chen Ming rolled his eyes. The moment that furry dog saw him at a single glance, he knew he had been found sneaking outside the window.
But…..
That person was such a big dog! Was that even possible for someone to be so big?!
He imagined the man to look bulgy and muscled, so much so that all he would end up seeing are muscles!
And what if his height was way more than he had imagined? He didn't want to tilt his head upwards every time he would talk to the man at all!
But of course, he was happy thinking of his mission this time: which was to reject his mate.
That line of thought gave him a hint of relief as he sighed and decided to glance at what was happening outside. But this time, he was being careful.
He took the cover of the curtain and glanced outside. To his surprise, everyone had already left the area, leaving behind heaps and heaps of scattered broken vases on the ground. He released the breath he was holding and closed the window after bending on and sitting on the ground.
Since he wanted to reject his 'mate' just like that, it would be fine if he didn't meet the man in the first place. If you ignored a person for a long, long time, wouldn't that give that person an idea that you don't want to be with them at all?
That's what he had actually planned on doing, but alas, his wishes and desires were thrown out of the window when he glanced around and suddenly found the same wolf standing right in front of him, facing his back to the main door.
Chen Ming was stunned as his heart jumped to his throat.
Damn….
Just when did this person enter his room?!
As a reply, a gust of wind passed through the side window that was still open and blasted onto his face, making small bangs on his forehead wave with the power of wind.
He pursed his lips, wondering what he should do. This damned guy already crossed the threshold of his room and entered his private area. Even though he hadn't been here for long, he had already considered this place as his own domain that no one should cross.
I mean, c'mon, everyone has a private place to live which they cannot let others cross no matter what.
Chen Ming had also decided to have a sign board on the door of his room which said, "No entry to the outsiders."
But who the fuck knew this damned guy would just sneak inside from the window?!
Just as he was sitting there, staring at the wolf dazedly, he heard the other growling as a harsh, cold voice came from the werewolf, "You're not afraid of me, it seems."
Chen Ming shrugged. "What if I am? What if I'm not? What does it have anything to do with you?"
The huge werewolf chuckled deeply as he walked closer, making Chen Ming feel alarmed. He seemed to have done something as he paused right in front of the young man's face.
Chen Ming saw something like red flashing across his brown eyes. Suddenly, his heartbeat quickened at a tremendous rate. He felt a strong attraction toward the man standing in front of him so much so that he felt like stripping and….. And….
Damn, his body felt hot all over as he sweated.
His lips parted and closed, swallowing the hint of emotion that was forcibly pushed into his heart all of a sudden.
The pull he felt toward the man was no less than making him want to strip right now and have his way with him, but a rational side of Chen Ming stopped him as he took a deep breath, saying, "Stop doing this!"
"Why?" The werewolf didn't seem to have any desire to transform into a man as he continued to stay the same as usual and said, "I'm enjoying the future Luna's colorful expression a lot."
"To hell with it!" Chen Ming took a deep breath as he finally uttered the words he wanted to ever since this man came bursting into his room. "Get the fuck out! I don't want you anywhere closer to me!"
He thought these words were enough to get a hint that he wanted to reject the man at all cost.
At those words, the werewolf chuckled once more and said, "Sure. I'll be out of your room right now."
"Thank you." Chen Ming released the breath he was holding as he saw the wolf backing away. But before he could relax fully, he heard the man speaking all of a sudden:
"Only for now."
"....."
What do you mean only for now?!
Chen Ming felt like he should clarify further as he said clearly, "I reject you as a mate. Do you not understand the hints I'm giving you?!"
