Chapter 46: Supernatural Beast

Owen took a puff. He eyed the surroundings.

This job was his gateway to a bright future. Completing it would allow him to enter a noble family. 

Nobles carried supreme authority. Only a special few could receive their grace. 

Owen would soon leave behind his hellhole of a life and achieve that grace.

'I have to make sure everything goes smoothly.'

Twenty criminals and Owen stood at the portal entrance. They had to safeguard the portal, while the mercenaries inside did their part inside the portal. 

The soldiers were all death-sentenced prisoners. The nobles brought them out — another show of their unquestioned authority.

Coincidentally, Owen was given another job. He had to kill the soldiers after the mercenaries came out, to make sure no one knew they were ever here.

Owen did not know why the nobles were being secretive, nor did he try to know.
